That dude is two years or so after the shop opened.

This dude had no worries about getting teeth shot out.
But It happened anyway.
If it had happened in 2004 or early 05 I wouldn't be in Airsoft anymore.

I don't know why you would ask this question when thousands of bbs are flying around during a game at 400fps and more for a sniper rifle. You would think that would be common sense.

I wear lower face protection and still have all my teeth.

My friend didn't. He lost a tooth which his dental bill came to $2000 for an implant. The following year his lip was shot open and the bb still chipped another tooth.

Thank you for all the response..Got plenty of answers to my questions

Just keeping your mouth closed
Are Keffiyehs being good enough
etc

I already has a paintball which is more then enough protection
But yet looking down the iron sights (getting better bending the mask)
And looking down at mag pouches not being to fully see them (currently cutting away mask)

No point for buying new face protection for the time being

So moral is for the people that dont play with lower protection there is a good chance your going to the dentist

If I do go Lense and Mesh I guess ill just put my veil over the lower mesh to still give it that look

I just notice the tons and tons of people playing without lower face protection and ponder

This question has been asked numerous times before. My response:
How much do you value your face and teeth?
If the answer is very low, go without face pro
If the answer is medium or high go with some form of face protection.
keffiyeh AFAIK are soft clothing, it's not going to absorb any energy.
Having your mouth close is probably not going to works too well (if it hits you >1J impact velocity) your skin and transfer energy.

Lower face mask is probably the best. The lower steel face mask puts your face about 1/3" higher. So if you are running those 1/3 co witness, you are good to go. If you are running ACOG, put the ACOG on carry handle.

Here's a good one. One if our friends that attended Operation: Mason Relic IIII got a BB lodged a few "inches" into his tongue. Straight in from the tip as well....

I used to use the mesh lower and goggles, but have switched to one of these

I cut the eyes and forehead out, basically making it a lower only. Put a few holes in the mask for air. It feels better on my face than one of those small mesh masks, The bigger mesh masks might feel better comfort wise but Im trying to get away from bigger.

Im always on the hunt for something better, but until then.

Looks like plastic, so I wonder if it would be sufficient. Have you done any testing with it, to see if it can withstand a shot close? (like 20 or so feet)

Your low profile mesh mask that covers just enough is pretty nice.

Considering that I thought I lost a mesh mask and bought a replacement, then found the original, going to chop one up like yours and Barry's.

It's most likely neoprene, and yes, I've witnessed these break from close range. However, it's still better than nothing.

I tried wearing the mesh face mask once and it was good. But I run a Comtac style headset and it made me uncomfortable so I ended up taking it off. Keep my mouth shut when outdoors and I wear the mesh for indoors since I don't need my radio or headset

that was my problem too. When you get the goggles, the headset and a lower mask all on, its way too much on your head, too many straps. Ive since switched over to using a simple small around the ear clip style headset. Really helps on keeping it light.

I purchased one of these about four years back. Found that it was very uncomfortable around the eyes, and that it aggrivated goggle fogging. Decided to line the eye holes with memory foam to increase the comfort. Not only did this make the mask more wearable, it also completely sealed the goggles off from most of the moisture! I now have a setup that refuses to fog, no matter what the circumstances. Almost time to replace the foam, though...
The masks (at least mine) are made of fiberglass. They will take some hits, but I would be cautious of them in cold weather. You know what they say about getting into an accident with a Corvette in the winter...

Truthfully, this.

I don't know if this was a joke or not, but I actually have dentures from well before getting into this sport (Got them when I was 22), so chipping a tooth of loosing one is not an issue. For the prices people are saying here I can get my whole mouth re-done on what it costs some of you to replace 1-2 teeth.

I am actually more worried about swallowing a bb then anything else. I just don't think that will be fun.
