that's pretty neat... but of all the cool gadgetry involved you couldn't find a less obnoxious looking switch? lol.

giving me some ideas.. could run a small reservoir out of a hydration carrier and build it into the vest... not ideal as I think you'd want it in direct contact with your body.

I love the switch Its a strong toggle so I don't accidentally turn the system on or off and its easy to get at when needed.
And I tried ice packs in a shirt and in the chest rig first with mixed results. Not enough heat was removed. The tubes circulating cold water seems to be the money!

Chaz, Your idea will work. There are commercial versions available for $500+.

You need more tubing and try powering it with LiFe which won't burst into flames like Lipo batteries.

Chaz just needs more tubing to make his version move more water.

Superhog - It works fine with the amount of tubing it has. Trust me, when I had it running it was super cool and kept my temps down in the scorching heat.
All I need to do now is insulate the ice pack in the back and the tubing feeding the shirt.
I "MAY" add more tubing in the future but right now with it working well, I won't be doing that.

Consider the tight space you have around the bladder. The best way to insulate it is with bubble pack and blue styrofoam.

If you read the entire post you would see that I am using an emergency blanket and foam to create an insulated pouch for the bladder and the tubing.

I think the switch could lead to some "interesting" moments in a game.

I did read this thread.

Bubble pack will increase the insulation further for you. I use two layers it in my hydration harness to keep my ice water, ice cold.

I think I built mine for like $50 lol... and it works great!
With 30 degree weather and a my ghillie on I was actually chilly inside of it.
