I was able to take my Revision Sawfly's with my prescription inserts (which were much more expensive than Lenscrafters .. but then Lenscrafters could never craft me a lense even close to what my prescription is supposed to be be.. ) on a first field-test this past weekend.

Despite the risks involved over Goggles.. i'm entirely sold on shooting glasses - at least in a long range, outdoor environment where the shooters are known NOT to take head-shots.

The fit of the Revision Sawfly's, along with the relative tightness of the insert frame against my eyes, combined with rear/side angle protection that a Mich2000 provides.. getting a 'golden BB' is a very unlikely event with these.

I will carry back-up goggles on my helmet..

Problem with Toric lenses is that, as it inplies, they have a different strenght per axis, which means they must be wore in a specific way, and that a rotation will screw your vision.

Weight is added at the bottom of the lens, so that the lens is at the right angle in your eye.

This weight can and will irritate sensible eyes.

As you noted yourself, you cannot wear them for a long time. Imagine if you were more sensible to lenses than him.

I wont even get into the axis of the astigmatism itself, as axis too close or too far from a vertical/horizontal axis cannot be done on disposable lenses, and must be conpensated with greater strenght of the prescrition.

I'd need to ask my partner for this anyway, it's her job, not mine.

Astigmatism's a bitch.

Astigmatism is just the icing on the cake, for making contacts a no-go. My immune system inappropriately responds to irritable foreign bodies with immediate reactive inflammation. Combine inflammation with poor immune response to bacterial infection, and I'm screwed for contacts.
