10 days w/o an update is a bit much :S
BBS - yeah man, I picked them up on the way to work; thanks! I will definitely be buying again The kicker is - between the time I picked up the bb's and got home from work, the charger I ordered from WGC arrived. So I get to make another trip out tomorrow! At least I now have all the items needed to make my aeg work!

That's normal for CP, and especially if it coming or going to the US [same with USPS as well].

lol - that was the whole point of the rant; what's normal for CP is pretty bad. I got many more updates from hong kong post about my package when it was in Canada than I got from CP about a package sent from bc.

I forget who the carrier was, but I bought a laptop from TigerDirect back in 2004...Their tracking info was pretty thorough and what really got me, was something like this :
1. Get home, no notice of delivery slip. 2. Pissed off, go upstairs and check tracking details 3. Tracking details "12:03:47 : Package left by the left side of door under couch on front porch" 4. Go to porch, check under couch, retrieve package. That kind of blew my mind.

My best "Canada Post" moment in the last year or so occurred in December when I ordered my TM P226 from Hellfire989 in BC. He contacted me to let me know the package had shipped and gave me the tracking number. The "expected delivery date" was 3 days later. Of course, other than the "Item received at post office", I got no other details from the CP tracking system until a couple of days after the package had been delivered.
Now, a day or so earlier, I had ordered some parts from Hong Kong (either Redwolf or eHobby). I received an email with a tracking number for that package shortly after (but same day) that I got the tracking number for the P226. Tracking with HK Speedpost was very accurate until it said "Item in Canada and being inspected by Customs". Again, I got no further updates from tracking until after the package was delivered... Of course, on Day 3, my P226 didn't arrive. On day 4, it didn't arrive. Finally, on day 5, I got a delivery notice from CP. I headed over to the post office to pick up my new P226. Upon getting the package, I was quite surprised to find out that it was NOT my P226, but my package from HK instead. The P226 showed up 3 days later on a Monday... And on Tuesday evening, I got a flurry of emails from the CP tracking system with updates about the whereabouts of my 2 packages. Go Canada Post!

Uhgg.....customs. I've had genrally good experiences with until two days ago, I got a box from Redwolf, all ripped to shit and messed around with, I think some stuff may be missing....it was worth $350US. So they had no trouble raping me $70 and 63 fucking cents. Those sons of bitch bastards.
So the CP guy comes to the door and he's an off-the-boat Asian, but he was pretty nice (just ironic cause it was coming from HK and all) and tells me of this mysterious charge. After punching the wall and several "curse" words, he's like "we only take credit cards" which caused me to half punch the wall again because I hate using my Visa and I only just got it a couple months ago (had this been before then, I would have gone apeshit so it still somewhat got to me). The thing is I have paid with debit at the door several times from CP or Purolator, which IS CP.....so that pissed me off. Once again, what you guys describe with government services and such has not been my experience usually. It's quite up to date for me. Everything usually is as said to be on the site. Usually so much so that one of my parents can go collect my shit at the plant or various stations....since both of them work for CP. And ohhhh the stories you hear about CP employee's with two parents at two different locations. They make the employee's sound almost....human? People do fuck up as well as machines, but I haven't been fucked as bad as any of you yet. And I've got quite a number of shipments over the years. |

I had a package shipped to Vernon B.C
It was confirmed that CP received my package. After 1 1/2 months with the tracking showing "Canada Post has recieved the package" they lost my package and i went through hell. After 1 1/2 months, they finally found my package and it was shipped. CP has one of the worst track records and quite frankly they dont give a damn about their job. If Fedex or UPS was cheaper, id rather deal with them as they will actually go out of their way to do what they claim, CP will give you promises, and when something goes wrong, they lie to your face and tell you its "your problem not mine." Edit : @ Rumple Felt I Beleive That mysterious charge is Customs + Brokering fees. It happens from time to time.

According to CP, one of my last packages took 4 days to be processed in Ontario, Ghelp being the departure location, just to arrive in Quebec 2 days before the tracking system was marked as in Quebec.
The package was Xpress ed

well i had a lovely experience with CP.
i bought some stuff from ebay banned, after a while i checked the tracking number and it said it was in customs for inspection... well thats fine, i checked it every once and a while and nothing happens. so after i dont know how long i get a slip in the door, says that my package has been sitting at the post office for ever and to pick it up or it gets sent back. it would help if i didnt recive the slip 4 days after the dead line..... there goes 70 bucks. |

I never get my notice of delivery slips, Ive complained about it multiple times and it has yet to ever yield any results. Usually after 10 business days I start dropping by my local pick up center and check to see if I have anything.

Oh I know that. It's just the fact that if I was someone not so "up" on how fucking shitty and damned near criminal-like customs is I'd flip out of my skull when some guy brings me my shit and asks me for another 70 bucks with no explanation.

recently theyv just been leaving the slip sticking a bit outta the mat under my door, so no one notices it untill its covered in mud.
thankfully i know a guy that works at the main post office downtown here in the falls, and if i find the slip in time, i can just call him and he'll call the driver and tell them to re-deliver it, with a loud knock on the door. the first AEG, and 2 GBBs i ordered way back in 2004, i lived on a busy street here in the falls, and they just left the massive box on my front porch, which was 10 feet tops away from the sidewalk. we had people pull up in a pickup and steal a heavy bag hanging out of a tree in our backyard, now imagine if my package with over 1200 dollars worth of stuff in it vanished, i would have bombed the CP building. i can understand why postmen/women would get sick of knocking on peoples doors and all, but shit, its part of your job. DO IT. lol |
