FYI
Hotpower Over-discharge protetion circuit. When the battery is lower than the saftey level, it auto disconnects. Last edited by huang; February 23rd, 2009 at 18:35.. |

Well I finally got my balancer to work with my King Arms LiPo battery (it seems either the balancer I got was backwards or the KA balancer plugs are backwards, + and - where swapped.) I plugged the battery in with the voltage protector and bam, it wound the gears backwards. Looks like the King Arms voltage regulator I got was wired so it crosses over. Anti-reversal saved my piston.
I don't understand why so many voltage protection circuits and LiPo batteries have mini connectors, they just act like resistors. I melted mini connectors regularly with large 9.6V and 10.8V packs so I see them as useless for anything but a stock TM gun. Also I thought the maximum draw of a LiPo pack was the C rating of the pack (mAh divided by 1000) multiplied by the advertised C rating for the pack. So for a 1300mAh 20C pack it would be 1.3x20 so 26A. Its just that I know 20C large packs (6000+ mAh) have a draw rating of over 100A. Based on this, a higher C rating for a small capacity battery would increase the ROF assuming the wire can handle it. Stock wire is often 18awg and can carry a maximum of 10A of current. I upgraded my EBR to 14awg wire and the ROF jumped since the wire was able to carry 17A. This doesn't really work with TM or other average performance motors but I run Magnums and Turbos and they can draw upwards of 25A from what I have read (assuming the amperage is available and the wire can handle it.) I have some 12awg wire with super thin coating, its as thick as normal 16awg wire but its so stiff it doesn't really work in guns. I have been looking around casually for pure silver wire instead of copper or silver coated copper but I can't find anything. Someone told me silver wire costs $100/foot or something but that doesn't make any sense as thats more expensive than silver jewelry. Last edited by LUTNIT; February 23rd, 2009 at 23:04.. |

I got a chance to shoot tys' guns on sunday and was quite impressed with it. I'll be keeping in touch with both tys and this thread to see what comes of it.
Jugz, I'm thinking a package deal for starters with a battery, protector, and charger would be a good idea. I'd definitely be interested in one of them. Maybe even a second battery with protector as a secondary kit. But that's further into the future. For now i'm pleased with the life and rof of the standard batteries, and although the trigger response isn't immediate, i've learned to live with it. Hopefully people don't feel the need for a super high rof gun. But who honestly wants to waste that many bbs. Fido

Huang,
do they have a version for a 7.4v LiPo...or does the one unit work for both 2 and 3 cell lipos? Tys |

It wont work for both, they are designed for 11.1V batteries so they cut off around 9V, 3V per cell. You would need one that cuts off somewhere before 6V for a two cell pack.
