Customs officers go to the Mississauga plant and randomly check parcels that have come in, those that are to be seized or looked over more intently get taken back to the CBSA office with them for processing/paperwork etc.

They CANNOT check every single package that comes in, it is physically impossible. This is what a CBSA officer told me when I called them a long time ago.

My aunt is sending me a few items from Hong Kong that she purchased for me at UN. Here they are:

1. Bomber tactical QD mount
2. Bomber tactical ACOG mount
3. Bomber tactical cantilever mount
4. Promethesus inner barrel
5. King Arms rear flip up sight
6. King Arms L300 laser

My questions are:

1. Even though these items arent prohibited, when they be seized by CBSA?
2. If they are seized, will I have to tell my aunt to file a claim with HK postal service?

They won't get seized. Even if it does get seized, you can make a claim and tell them they are not prohibited. They also don't even look prohibited. Only a stupid officer can make a mistake and seize them.

Not sure but I think flash hider can cause problems to be imported sometimes... At least for real steel...

Thanks Shirley/Mr. Hitman? I like this avatar better, it looks hawt! Ive never made a claim before, but is it a long and tedious process? or just a form to fill out?

This is actually a little disconcerting. I'm still waiting on AV but I've been hunting around for gear already. I know I wont be buying weapons out of the country (I've read other horror stories of people trying to smuggle them across the border... no thanks). But I've got a lump sum saved up to buy all my "starter" gear in one go.. having to wait for some would suck pretty hard.

Is this sort of thing a frequent occourance when ordering from outside of Canada? Is it limited JUST to orders coming out of hong kong (from what I can see, thats where most of the complaints were coming from)?

This may be on another thread that I just havent come across yet, but would legitimately coming across the border with accessories and claiming them cause you alot of hassel? Has anyone even tried that to know how difficult it is?

Sorry to barrage you with questions, but this thread has caught my attention.

So long as it's not "restricted parts" (see the Importing Airsoft and You thread in the FAQ), you should be fine. All depends on the CBSA officer you're dealing with.

I got 4 shipment (airsoft related) this month:
RA-Tech ones ---GHK Mags was open by CBSA and release quickly, they didnt even open the carboard box holding individual mag

RA-Tech 2nd ---WA Bolt Carrier, 2 Buffer spring, small parts for WA...It was not check, I was so relieved since if the CBSA agent caught it, I would have togo B&C 2 weeks proving that the bolt isnt for firearms. (I have PAL/RPAL anyways)

3rd RSOV --2 enhanced lighter AGM Mag--Stuck in custom since 18th of July, Im thinking RSOV is black listed now

4th Redwolf (2 days ago) --LOTS of Magpul stuff--Last info say its enroute, hopefully not in custom like RSOV

I'm waiting for an order that has been in cutoms for over a week now. Either I'm impatient or Canadian customs takes too many coffee breaks. I will think twice about ordering from ehobby Asia again.

A week wait is not long at all. Buy local if you don't want to wait.
