I wouldn't mind spending up to 1k for parts for a nice custom build gun. tbh, I wouldn't mind the challenge/headache.

may be another 500 on gears and stuff.

Hehehe, have fun custom building your gun, I did.

Took a good 5-6 or so months, and is still not all the way done.

The only problem is fitment in some areas, IE this brand does not fit 100% with this other brand or so. And usually price, having to source this part and that part all differently tends to rack up a higher price then buying the gun pre-built by some company.

It's a great feeling once it's all done, or close to it.

Get a Super MAX PTW by Systema on the classifieds. You can't get better than that.

Tip: Get a second mortgage.

billi, to your question about snipers:
Ah, a question the guys on here get a lot. If you're looking for precision shooting, airsoft really isn't the place for that. Simply because airsoft rifles are not accurate. Coupled with the fact that there aren't any good OOB/stock sniper rifles to begin with, you would basically be investing loads and loads of money to upgrade the gun to fieldable standards. And then the experience isn't the same as actual target shooting-its way different.
So most of us here would advise you to stay away from snipers until you've had some experience with good AEG's and upgrading before dipping your feet into the snipers area. That being said, if you must snipe, get something that combines the attributes of long range shooting with automatic fire. Something like an SR-25 (which isn't cheap), or better, and M16 with a long barrel, full stock and a decent medium magnification scope.
I think the best feeling for a sniper would be a quote from someone I read off here (sorry I don't remember your name, so credits go to him), "Sniping requires lots of patience, sometimes you sit or lay down the whole game without shooting a shot-I remember one game where I pinned down 3-4 guys just because they thought I was shooting a high powered spring whereas in actuality I was running stock. I didn't shoot a single shot."
So the point is a sniper is good for spotting, but whether or not shots are taken really depends on the situation. You can't try to go crazy and shoot at every opportunity. And that's really what takes the fun of airsoft (and sniping) away from first-timers. So save yourself from disappointment and go mainstream-its well worth it!

wow, 5-6 month? I can imagine the problem with different brands of parts which aren't going to be compatible with each other.

I've seen the review on youtube, 1.6k is not bad, but imo, the gun looks terrible. Now if that gun offers 4 sided RIS, and full stock, then 1.6k is worth it. (it has a nice fps, rated at 380 =])

But then this isn't bad either -> rot13(uggc://jjj.lbhghor.pbz/jngpu?i=x2MSMK1Tbl8&uq=1)

Thanks! I will keep that in mind.

I've googled around, and anyone recommend the m203 grenade launcher?

This is my shopping list so far:
2 TM Desert E Chrome, 4 magazines (Should I stick with Gas or Electric?)
1 CA M16 (or M4) with full stock, and 4 sided RIS railings, with the M203 Grenade launcher.
1 Secondary AEG, probably the same as above for my back up use
5 of each real/med/high magazine for each of my AEGs
all the gears and necessary equipment.

I'm hoping that 3k will cover it.

And of course, when the proper time comes, I shall upgrade it.

Suggestions? Criticisms? =]

Ummmm.... EWWWWWWW

Take that video off immediately. Read about that guy and his "melded spring and Blue Noise Tournament" deal.

EDIT: I can't fault you since you're new however there are a lot of skeletons in the closet in the community so to speak with PropScam, and the general shit that happens around here.

Also can you believe the shit that this guy is spewing? Honestly he has no "good knowledge" of airsoft and the game in general.

Sorry, I've taken it off. But I meant the gun looks pretty cool...

Well, im just wondering, what will you do with two? Duel wielding is not like in the movies, its much more practical to just have one, unless its like a Mac 11

Sorry, it took me 5-6 months due to lack of work and/or I couldn't find the parts I was looking for at the right time.

Right now what's taking the time is being lazy! lol

True, But suppose if I had the right parts and tools, I can't see it taking more than a day (at most)

You can mod a PTW to w/e you want too. I owned 3 with something like 5 configurations.

You can change fps, from 330ish up to 500ish depending on the cylinder you want.

Oh and it takes RS rails/stocks/etc.

Professional Training Weapon.

Honestly, I've seen them as too finicky and odd.. and expensive for my tastes.
