I have both a Tanaka M40A1 and my trusty VSR and I like them both. But Scooter, as you saw at the training day when the troops get too close on a hot day, it is time to switch to another choice as I did with the M14 and my 1911A1. I got one shot off with the M40 and that was to punch a hole in the heavy brush and got a hit on him to send his troops back towards the killzone.

And for having a reliable sniper platform, the #1 thing is consistency, I don't care how far it shoots or how fast, as long as I know where the next shot is going to go. Last edited by Eldin; August 15th, 2010 at 22:16.. |

Consistency is key, hence i have pulled the element POS spring out of the VSR and put the 150 Promethius back in.
I added the Sorbo pad to the cylinder head as well. heheheh It makes this soft woosh just before you hear the THWACK as the BB hits the target hahah i have to re Chrono the Rifle but i assume its still up around the 486 mark.. Has enyone used a Velocity Reducer have to get this monster under 450 hahaha Im right there with Ya Ice. I have a side arm, My M4 for any CQB and VSR long range hello (oh and My m4 has a 433 603 now Shoots FAR hahahah

Or use heavier ammo, the heavier the better. Edit: Upon closer inspection of this product, it doesn't look like a very effective way of reducing fps; at the end of the barrel? I think it would make your gun less accurate, as there is physical pressure applied to the bb as it is exiting the barrel. It would also be finicky in cold weather when the rubber retracts, and along with that, the hopup is probably less effective too. Last edited by Eldin; August 15th, 2010 at 22:38.. |

When they Chrono test they will use .2 bbs so to conform i must be under 450 untill certified level 2..
Next.. I'll get certified but i heard the sorbo pad reduce Chamber volume thus reducing FPS but upto 6% thats close to 30 FPS in my case (486 FPS)

Another option is getting a short stroke cylinder, if you don't feel like getting 7 sorbo pads I noticed about a 15 fps decrease from the cylinder dampeners. |
