He is howeer generalizing "some" of his comments towards one game in particular in a few of his comments, and said comments have been addressed already. lets focus on Airsoft and how we can improve it within the community. Karma_ and m102404 have great ideas. It would be really neat to have something like that put on. It could be a great way to bridge the gap between skirmishers and MILSIM. |

It's pretty simple, if you cant handle being up and about for long hours in adverse weather conditions, don't sign up! Because by signing up then just walking out a few hours into the game you're just fucking it over for everyone else who came out there to enjoy a MILSIM type game. And I've seen it happen at EVERY SINGLE MILSIM game I have ever played.

on the topic of playing at Night... I'd rather have a group of 4 farm kids with no NVG and basic gear... then a squad of 8 'pro' airsofters with gucci gear and a grand or two strapped to their face
I love all facets of airsoft ... but I must admit I yearn for more strategy/objective based long games... when the game slows down and forces move and jockey for an explosion or two of game changing battles is where I seem to shine in airsoft. for long games.. if I get tired/bogged down ... or the urge to stomp my feet and whine .. I talk with my teammates and take defensive roles from others so they go can get their fill of battle

On the topic of night games and lack of sleep. There is a solution. Organize the teams into squads, and let each squad have an optional rest period, where they can return to base and rest/rearm while the rest of the side goes and continues fighting, this will keep the game going (instead of everyone just resting at once) and will get some of the less enduring players the rest they want or need.

It is a trend that people demand large elaborate scenarios with lots of players .. and then treat the game like a skirmish ... not everyone is cut out or has the mind set necessary to engage in a military simulation.. even if they want to. Far far too many people are under the misapprehension that live action video games are what milsim should be like. people want constant action.. despite the fact that they can only actually maintain operations for 4 hours before they are spent like a 16 year old boy with a hooker. People want a solid command structure, and then ignore it, People want defined objectives then don't bother trying to achieve them. and then complain in the AAR about how command was fucked and there were not enough objectives. Many players are so self centered and so focused on their own "fun" that they can't see that their "fun" is spoiling every one else's... or maybe they just don't care. you know... when you get the right group, with the right leadership some really great things can happen... but just a few of the wrong group can ruin it for everyone.

by signing up to a 24 hour game you agree to do so. No one expects anyone to be 100% on for the whole game, you take rests, you eat, drink, rest... but you stay in the game while you do it. I personally know lots of guys who had an absolute miserable time at their first few 24 hour ops.. they were cold, hungry and tired.. but they did it and it got easier every one they did. Now these same guys are running the show at a lot of games

Even at Rhino there were people who disappeared at night, hell I was one of them... didn't mean to, but after a little sortie in full kit I just conked out without realising it... woke up when Arkell (it was Arkell, right?) had his little 'incident'.
Zombies, Picton too, and that wasn't even a 24hour game.
