Why Use OPS-CENTER?

Something with an FAQ such as what is ops-center and how to make the best use of it would be good for those who are new to the whole idea. That might help.

Thanks for the feedback and all the suggestions folks.

We're in the midst of addressing all of the issues mentioned today. We did run a beta for 30 days and got a lot of feedback during that period, so we're familiar with using test users and have been doing so - in fact MOST of the changes we've made in the last 3 weeks have been user driven.

We've been doing rapid development and have added a lot of data fields and process since version 1.0 and there is fine tuning to be done to the UI process. For instance, age checks was something we did after the fact and if we don't get a birthdate from the Facebook login process, we need to make the user disclose it - just something we didn't consider.

Bear with us, as we will optimize the event creation and join process. We're in the process of integrating EventBrite into the system, so we're going to finish that and then overhaul the event creation process, and the join process with the new ticket code so we're passing through those sections of code only once this month (saves time and money).

I'm glad to see so many taking an interest to the level of detail we're getting on the feedback, and we really appreciate your ideas, particularly those who we know are developers (tip the hat to Warren) who can look at this with a pretty experience eye.

Video tutorials are coming, we just want to stabilize the UI before we start scraping screens. The code and UI changes are outstripping the documentation process.

Used this thing to host a game in Niagara (Battle of Grenoble), was easy to follow and ran smoothly. Its the facebook of airsoft.

Loving ops-center but I'm still finding that the session timeout is crazy short. I am finding my usage pattern of ops-center is somewhat like facebook or gmail. I'm just leaving it open all the time and occasionally refreshing it whenever I remember to, however, I'm always signed out by the time that I do. Any chance of increasing the session timeout to around a week or so?

(using Chrome on various machines).

Hi guy's,
just joined OPS-CENTER and added my field in Pont-rouge, Quebec. Thanks for building this site for the community, I like it very much. I love how you built everything around a map

Three small suggestions since I'm just learning to use OPS-CENTER

1. You should add a button for OCU (Ops-Center University).

2. You should create a banner I can add to my signature to promote OPS-CENTER.

3. Eventually you might want to give the option to see the OPS-CENTER buttons in French, I know, it's a bummer and you have a ton of work to do but I'm in a region where most of the players speak french. Oh Canada

Thanks for the feedback 5kull! We've just finished a tremendous amount of work putting OPS-Center on a new dedicated server - map redraw is about 800% faster and the site is noticeably more responsive.

We're tackling some communications features at the moment, which you should see in the next couple of weeks - I think you'll like what we're up to (can't talk about it yet, lol).

OPSC banners and badges are definitely on our todo list.

We have plans for French and Spanish. We've been rolling out core functionality and are now doing a lot of backend work. Once 2.0 is done, we're probably going to go multi-lingual.

Glad you're enjoying it and stay tuned for more features and functions that everyone's been wanting.

As Scarecrow said, Ops-Center just switched over to a new server, a new security certificate was issued, so you have to update your computer.
