Last black M500 I owned had a
Mad Bull grenade fill valve installed.

I'm guessing you could simply fill
the gun with CO2 using the Mad Bull
XC-03 portable charger.

Nice job Mark, if you need any more
repairs on that shotty, my hammer is
always ready!

I think the pressure would be too high.

Someone tried that in a WE Magazine and the slide blew off.

Maybe, but the Marushin I had
was the newer re-released ones
sold through Spartan Imports.

They "claim" the guns have
better o-rings and are more
than ready for green gas. So
might be worth a try. Owners
of the real Marushin-made
m500's know the internals are
built very strong.

WE... what can I say about
that... um, they are garbage.

Edit: WE Hicapa's are all built
to take the WE CO2 mag, that
uses the 12g powerlets. So
I would bet an m500 could
stand up to that pressure.

Tap and Die sets are on sale at Canadian Tire all the time. I picked mine up on sale for $40 and it's gotten me out of more jams, trips to the store, as well as money on new parts, it paid for itself in the first 2 months I owned it and many times since. Everyone with a toolbox should own one. Other than that, a good cordless drill with a levels built in, another essential part for the box.

Not exactly. A HP output tank will have an average output pressure of 800psi, a LP output one is about 400psi. While my tank can hold 4500psi, and some aftermarket companies produce fully adjustable tank regs the highest pressure output I've seen is 1500psi. All newer style paintball guns today only operate around 200psi which is why they come standard with regulators.

True enough. They filled my tank at 3000psi, but I do remember reading that the valve will only let out at 800psi. Either way, it's far to high for us to use, which is why I had to use the adjustable stabilizer.

The setup I have, which doesn't involve drilling/tapping uses a 4mm house so it's alot thinner and not as stiff, plus I can use it with GBBs

I preferred the 1/8NPT tap because it was local buy; and messing too much with the fine thread of the fill valve is bound to lead to cross threading. But it is a clever idea...

Also Murdoch, it looks like you got something else attached to your tank.

Yeah that's the Palmers stabilizer beautifully taped to it.

My regulator attaches directly onto the HPA tank so its not that bulky especially cause I got a pouch for it in the back of my RAV vest.

I think Long Bong may have linked to yours or something similar on Palmers site. That's a much more cost effective solution than buying all the parts and building it yourself. What I'm glad I do have though is that slide check. It means I don't have to depressurize the entire line to disconnect the gun. Saves a bit on gas...
