Wow, that's a pretty good price. Considering I paid like $200 for my Kraken.

Hey Shiftsup, how do you mean your Kraken felt like a toy? Weight? or...? I thought it has pretty good heft to it but not sure just how heavy it should feel.
If feels like the toy plastic guns I had when I was a kid back in the 1970's (I am 40). It's a wee bit heavier yeah but it's creaky and very plastic. I have an MP-40 battery powered water pistol that feels exactly the same (bought @ Toys R Us in 1988)

Gaming with it was just a big letdown though. This had nothing to do with it's performance. It had to do with feel. I was relieved of this letdown when I got my RS 56 and RS 56-1. These 2 AEGs feel closer to real steel to me and keep me interested in playing (plastic gbb pistols are more than ok though).

Seriously, if all that I had availble gun-wise was plastic rifles I'd maybe game twice a year. Now I am not trying remotely to insult anyone with this comment but for my own satisfaction I felt running around with an all plastic gun a bit more childish than I cared for.

I'm sure it's been said but isn't the broxa a near 400 FPS gun? Shooting your friends (usually backyard or basement for most kids) under 10 feet range will will hurt or cause injuries.

Regarding the 16-18 age thing, where are you from? If you were really considering the $160 Broxa from Bass Pro Shop, are you from the Calgary area? 16 year olds are allowed to play in some of the clubs/arenas/fields there if you have parental supervision/permission.

+1 to the "buy cheap, buy twice" rule. This is a lesson that will apply in every aspect of the market place and is even more prominent in airsoft.

This is not meant to discourage, I'm just throwing in my 2 cents to show how it makes sense that to spend more would cost you less.

Spending 300-400 on a decent AEG will always be cheaper than spending 200 first, realising why it was 200, and then spending the 300-400 on the AEG you should have bought initially.

Just something to think about...

Thanks for the thoughts Shiftsup!! I got mine second hand so they must have added some metal to it. Only the stock and grip are plastic on it now.
Feels heavier than my new M4A1 (ICS) and gamed through Claybank perfectly. CIAO!!
BTW, I'm 41 now and having a great time. I only had cap guns to play with when I was a kid. LOL, damn.

Hey buddy, I've been using my Aftermath Broxa since Aug.2009, it's one of the best guns out there for small cash. I've played against $300-$1000 guns, and kicked ass, so the gun is good. by the way, it's not the gun but experience in tactics. So, just be carefull how close you shoot your friends from because its a powerfull gun.

I've played against $300-$1000 guns, and kicked ass, so the gun is good, at least until it explodes. by the way, it's not the gun but experience in tactics. which is directly contradictory to what I said about it being a good gun that kicks the ass of other guns. So, just be carefull how close you shoot your friends from because its a powerfull gun, because like most cheap china guns, the spring is too powerful for the internal components, and will likely explode. Oh, and I should mention, because the tolerances are so horrid, good luck easily upgrading this gun.

Yep, if you want the Broxa to be game-able, you're going to need to spend some money on upgrades.

ONLY BUY THE BROXA IF YOUR WILLING TO SPEND $100+ ON UPGRADES

Personally, when I got mine,

I bought a lipo and charger... $60
Decided that the mag epic fails... $30
Blown the gearbox to smithereens with the lipo... $80
Decided that the hopup, cylinder sucks and inner barrel sucks... $80
Krylon is fun... $10

Trust me, upgrading is addicting.
