Haha, Wooden mp5. Thats a sight.
Either way. Dry brushing is an effect that can be applied to camouflage painting as well guys, Not just 'replicating' metal. Give me a week or so and i'll have a painting guide up. Jeez guys. Painting fake metal just seems like some sort of sin to you all :P. |

Thanks for the pointers Strelok. This gun was my 1st painting attempt and just a test really. But it was fun. It turned out well but its now just a loaner.

I'm repainting my MP5, any advice? I did a failure paint job the last time. I want it to not look 'toyish'.

just a quick question for you guys that have good experience painting guns, how you you repair scratches on a body?
is it possible to just touch them up or is a full body paint needed |

I don't mean to criticize, but in my oppinion you left a little too much paint on the brush when you drybrushed that MP5. I find drybrushing give a gun a lot more character when you focus on certain parts of what you are painting and don't just give it a steady coat of the stuff.
What colour do you use? I use gun metal gray and it seems to look a little different than what you used. Good job though, I really like the way it turned out. I will be posting pics of my recently painted M4, most likely tonight or tomorrow afternoon. |

The heavily applied look is what I had wanted, and what I had gone for. Its supposed to be like old/aged metal, where the coating has been long worn away. If I had the time to finish up the grips and stock the aged look would make more sense.

I know what you mean, but even if it was on a Garand or something, I would still have to say it's not what I would have done.
