Damn Dave, I was thinking of doing a Spike's Tactical build. That looks sweet.

I was wondering..... what is on the OTHER side of the lower receiver for the markings? All I see are the one side of the m4 lowers with the serial and logo...but what is etched on the reverse side? Is there nothing on that side? Is it just a copy of the fire selections?
Also...nobody is using the new receiver markings with the Colt Canada symbol...

I was the first one to get a C8 done with the Colt markings, back in November.

Generally, on the right side of an AR-15 lower... minimal markings. You might have fire position, but varies on the rifle- C7/C8 don't have any. Forge markings, maybe, but you can't engrave those.

I emailed him today to see if he's still there, and he pretty much replied a minute later. He is still working there, he has been quite busy from what he has told me.

This was the info he gave me:

"I actually have a new laser that does DEEP engraving but with a laser.
its still being setup/tested/learned but i can do some craaazy stuff with it.
I went right through stainless steel.

So we can now provide possibly deep cut engraving but with the accuracy of the laser, and lower prices than cnc because its operated by me "

I have not asked for pricing, but probably more so the same for CNC deep engraving, and less for that new deep laser engraving

Thanks for posting this, I've asked him a few times about when he might get this set up. Keep us posted, I'm looking forward to having my VFC engraved and hydrodipped.

Yep...will keep you guys posted, unless someone beats me to it! Just not too sure if I want to get it sand blasted and then cerakote it >_> Afraid of fitment issues.

That's great news that he's still alive. I was planning to give him a email soon about my receiver. Hope he still does the cerakote stuff.

Fitment didn't seem to be affected when I had my receivers blasted and cerakoted, but of course depends heavily on the blasting stage...
