There's an easy way to tell if yours is post-ban.
Just look in to the air nozzle: if it looks like there is some kind of restriction inside there that reduces the bore to about 1/3rd of the size of the exit, then you have a restricted air nozzle. However this can be remedied. If you have access to a drill press, you can bore out the nozzle. Or if you can source one out, you can get the air nozzle made by "Best Gun". I've only seen this item sold by Evike.com, but they never have inventory. |

Guys sorry that i didn't replyed on your requests.
The sling i was using is a Carbine sling that i modified to work on the AICS. How i did that, don't know annymore:$ it just fits on the rifle, and the hooks on the sling fitted like a charm. -Cy

Newcomer, where did you buy yours from? If you are getting yours from WGC, then it will not have the PCS. I just bought mine through Raygis LasVegas and he's ordering mine from Redwolf. Redwolf's Tanaka M700 AICS are the pre-ban versions.
Thanks Illusion, much appreciated for the info.

Thanks for the info. What I read from the other forums is that the restricted nozzle actually bottlenecks to a smaller ID and OD, which means that if you bore it out, you're effectively removing half the length of the nozzle! Besides that, there is a small brass protusion in the nozzle. I have acess to a milling machine as well a lathe, so fabricating one won't be a problem. However, I need the dimensions of the old nozzle to do that. In addition, I need to confirm if the old nozzle may fit into the post-ban housing of the A.I.C.S. Therefore, if any of guys can post up some pics of the old and new nozzle, we can start from there and duplicate a proper nozzle. That aside, I've been looking for the original PCS bolt for the Tanaka A.I.C.S but this product doesn't seem to exist in the market. Can somebody confirm this? Thanks for your time guys. |

From the info I've read, and the photos I've seen, from the outside, the air nozzle looks exactly the same. The difference is only noticed when peering in to the exit hole.
Tanaka Works' web site also shows an aftermarket part that is given to Japanese M700 owners that allow them to retrofit their gun to meet the new law requirements. These schematics show just a nozzle obstruction as a flow restrictor. .. I don't see how boring out a cylindrical object will remove half the length? You're only opening up the inner diameter... |

UN Company is a good airsoft retail company. I do believe UN Company does have the pre-ban M700 so I think your safe. When I was first interested in purchasing this gun, I was talking to the guys from WGC. They informed me that they are selling the M700 that have the PCS removed.

I got about 4 mags worth with my tanaka A.I.C.S this is with it all stock but it depends how much you shoot if you shoot once and let it warm up again you get more shots. Tempeture affects how well the mag stores gas too. A trick I found is when you about to shoot push the mag in further for a better seal gives a boost in fps. I was also wondering ILLusion where you got the parts from.

Hard to say, because I've only gone through parts testing with my AICS and each time a test a mag of BBs, I refill it. But I would guess roughly the same answer as RUBBERDUCKEY: 4 mags worth.
I noticed only a very small difference in velocity when pushing in the magazine on each shot. In fact, it's barely noticeable. After I installed the KM magazine parts kit, the difference became zero. |

Thanks. Just debating if I should order another mag then. If both you (Illusion) and Rubberduckey are getting 4 mags worth. That's basically 116 shots @ 29 rds per mag. That's pretty decent. I guess I'll just order another mag for back up if by chance something happens to the original mag it comes with. Thank you for the info.

... so... is it overkill that I have 5 mags?
lol. |
December 10th, 2006, 18:24 | #90 |
I think it a good thing to have 5 mags I only have one I dropped mine while loading it since the loading of the mag for this gun is diffrent and spent 1 hr cleaning it so I wont damage anything with 5 you wont have to worry drop one use another. I clean this gun like crazy it cleaner than my bathroom probally . ILLusion where you manage to pick up those parts for the gun? I wouldn't mind getting some things myself.
