Unfortunately, I've now joined this thread. I'm new in Airsoft and loving it, but clearly importing things is a bit of an Art. Its been a month since my package of fluro bio BBs, regular bio BBs, an Eotech 552, a speed loader have been held with no notification - I guess it's wait and see until I get a special letter...

I guess I lucked out - I just received an M4 metal receiver that was opened and inspected by CBSA and showed up complete with "Opened by CBSA" tape on it

Yeah, I ordered it before I started reading all this stuff and have been sweating bullets for the last month waiting to get nailed on it

Not going to try that again - I didn't know customs was so thorough with the mail because I ship stuff in containers all the time and nobody ever bothers to even open the doors on them and look inside........... (not that I ever bring in illegal stuff, I just know they never look at it)

I'll hop in the wagon again.

I have a non-restricted airsoft parts package "In Customs" for two weeks now and counting. This is the second package I ordered overseas from that is "delayed" which usually take roughly a week from my other previous orders. I am getting anxious after reading the whole page of this thread. What sucks is the package is under my wife's name. Go figure. lol!

Contents of the package are for my VSR. Cant resist X-fire summer sale. PDI Prem. Palso Cylinder set, PDI inner barrel spacers and PDI scope mount.

I want the parts now:banghead:

Customs just released a new memo on weapons on June 29 and it specificly states that everything for airsoft guns is OK except for SOME receivers deemed to be replicas.

Your stuff will be fine. None of it is restricted. Just be patient. Some people have waited (and are still waiting) for well over a month for some of their packages.

Not sure about you, but I have yet to validate this information with any solid source. Care to share?

If you read and interpret that memorandum literally (which is how law always works - letter of the law) - a Jing Gong Thunder Maul is not legally a replica which therefore means parts of it.......... if you follow my drift

I'm sure CBSA will see it in a different light though and it will be a fight........

(I have fought customs before and won - they like to enforce what they think the law SHOULD be rather than what it actually is.......)

Yea I've been reading it, and there isn't any real acceptions. The Jing Gong has crossed the border a few times, because its not readily identifiable as a real firearm from any distance.

Quote:
55. Except for replica frames and receivers, most parts intended for replica firearms will generally be admissible, subject to other customs requirements such as payment of duties and taxes. However, border services officer must be vigilant that the parts in question are not interchangeable with real firearms or are not prohibited devices in their own right. For example: border services officer must ensure that the magazines that come with replicas are not real magazines that can be used in firearms and be able to store real ammunition.
Still no frames and receivers ever coming through, and no guns (other than those apparently looking like sci-fi toys) are getting in.
Maybe one day that will change.. lol. I made a funny. ;P
