once in canada it is legal infact customs rule for non registerable firearm is 407 to 500 fps that meets the energy needed for a non registerable firearm as long as the fps is stamped on the box by the manufacture.

Biggest airsoft missconception..... 500 fps airsoft gun is NOT A firearm. The gun needs too exceed a certian ammount of joules AS WELL AS, not OR exceed 500fps...

Correct. That's the limit set on air guns because of their heavier pellets and BBs. I can't remember what the velocity is for airsoft guns, but I seem to remember it's about 770 fps or something like that before it's considered a firearm.

and i am one of the few people that can fire full auto firearms in canada legally just about when ever i want. I think i have to know the laws and i deal with customs all the time.

If it is full black is a replica firearm or a prohibited device, it is ILLEGAL to transfer but as ithas already been said this isn't enforced otherwise the Classifieds would have been shut down a long time ago, the RCMP at most would be concerned with a publc store selling replicas otherwise they have better things to do than clamp down on private sales.

As long as the air-gun or airsoft gun doesn't exceed muzzle velocity of 500fps and the joule requirement it's not a firearm.

Personaly i have bought 2 cansoft guns just as project platforms since i find the externals on the "higher" quality ones to be decent other than the recivers, and the mexhbox's to be decent. With some upgrading I think its better than paying about 800$ for a CA of similar build witch i did see not to long ago when i can buy the cansoft for 400& and swap out the reciver and some internals for 250$ im still saving 150$. But as for the manufacturer jacking prices due to retooling to make cansoft versions thats bullshit given that all you have to do to make a clear lower is put a clear casting resin in the mold as apose to a opake material. But that price for a TM is stupid as i'v seen a Tm m4 bnib for 400$ at a local field only about 5 months ago

Good Luck with shooting your real steel to your friend and wait for them to call hit, That's a big plus that people in here play Airsoft, We can shoot our friends or family without end up at their funeral.

Edit : why do you bother to get Age Verified anyway when you feel like your real steel than airsoft ?

I've read a government document that stated it was 500 FPS OR 5.7 joules. Maybe I misread it or maybe it was out of date and there has been a revision. Can you provide the latest version of the law that explains the requirements?

It is illegal to import prohibited devices (replica firearms) without licence.

If you use a BFL to import an airsoft gun, it is imported as a prohibited device (replica firearm). That's its classification, declared by the importer and accepted by CBSA.

Section 24 of the Firearms Act states that it is illegal to transfer prohibited devices to non-businesses (licenced businesses, at that). Therefore, transfer between private individuals of airsoft guns imported via BFL is as illegal as the original act of transfer from business to private individual, because by definition, it entered the country as a prohibited device.

Back in 2005, i paid 420$ for a brand new TM ak47, and i swear, to this day, it was the best AEG i ever bought.
I just pent 265$ on a used TM ak47 in these boards, enough said.

TM M4 doesn't really appeal to me, there are so many better alternatives when it comes to armalites. But i would buy a TM MP5 cansoft in a heartbeat!

And as soon you change something, that TM will explode in your hands.

It's nice to have alternatives choice though. Still, $500 for a clear plastic aeg with low fps and shitty internals (yes shitty, as soon you start changing things, they don't hold up for shit)... Meh.

If they came pre upgraded to 350fps with solid metal internals, it would be a sweet deal. Just add a $5 krylon black spray can

Now lets see a clear TM M14
