I know it's not ambi... but http://airsoftbuddy.com/index_eprodu...roducts_id=267 is the original part... http://airsoftbuddy.com/index_eprodu...roducts_id=558 is a TSC ambi selector.. but outta stock.. usually if you email them they can order it in but takes a few weeks. Also their shipping can be outragous. Also just realized that Qlong wrote about the same part from Ehobby above

Winter being here... just wondering if anyone knows if there's a winter weight recoil spring for the SCAR open bolt... could have sworn I saw one for sale somewhere.

Ok I need some help here, the small spacer right behind my airnozzle shattered a while back, I fixed a new one by cutting two similiar spacers out of a hard rubber, trouble is when I use CO2 mags they are destroyed after only 3 or 4 mags. Anyone have any ideas, or possibly able to craft me somthing that will hold up to CO2 mags indefinitly (if that even exists)? Thanks Guys.

You could use metal....a bit of brass/steel machined to fit. If it wasn't so long I'd say use a stack of shims/washers...but it'd be more than a few to make up that space.

You'd probably also run a good risk of beating some other part to death...i.e. threads for the rod/nozzle base/piston head.

I could make you one if you wanted to try that route though.

By going the metal route, I'm not sure how long the hop up unit would last. That's what I'm most worried about because they are hard to source. How did you get yours to last Tys? Or do you not use CO2?

I don't use CO2. I've got some spares of the plastic bits...but by design they're fragile.

I have some derlin/phenolic plastic too

Yea the original plastic spacer (not sure what the plastic compound for that piece is) is very fragile. I would like to try the derlin plastic spacer if you wouldnt mind, unless the pair you listed is combined. What I was wondering is if the spacer is made wider would that increase the overall strength and life of the spacer?

Yes...it can be larger in outside diameter...as long as it doesn't block the little ports/vents on the bottom of the nozzle.

There are some one-piece 14.5" outer barrels out there...and others where they can be unscrewed to 10.5" length. The "seam"/joint should be obvious with close inspection.

The two piece barrels are typically very hard to take apart. They are usually glued at the factory...either with some sort of cyanoacrylic (krazy-glue) or Loctite-like compound. Typically, if it won't come apart with two pliers/channel-locks...then I use a propane torch and heat the area around the joint really well to soften/vaporise the glue. After that...they'll usually come off. Caution...the barrel really soaks up a lot of heat, so use gloves/etc...

I'm just curious... Whats the verdict on open vs closed (VSZ)?
Is open the way to go? I went with a Falcon VSZ and am still left wanting more accuracy.
