looks like the extended VN mags, similar to the TM design which means no more blue gasket seal just tighten the screw

From AirsoftBuddy.
Has anyone heard when these might reach the market?

I'm just getting a WE M16A3, and I'd rather wait until the new mags are available before I order my spares.

Yeah, but they're in two parts like the Maruzen MP5k mags. I'm wondering if there are possible leakage issues...

Relatively easy fix as compared to the original design. But the process would be the same.

Ive installed the kit into my upper receiver (not realizing the inner barrel was M4 length, and I have a CQBR, Ugh. I guess it's silencer time.)

Is there a reason I cant get the top half of the handguard back on? I can get the front under the front site ring, but the back refuses to go past the delta ring, and it has enough space to clear. It just gets stuck on *something*

You have to take the hex screw that holds the gas tube bracket out, then push the bracket down. This will allow you to fit the rail into the delta ring. Then all you have to do is reinstall the hex screw and your done.

I had already done that, but that made me think about the angle I was on. I was holding it vertically so gravity wasnt allowing the bracket to swing down. Laid everything flat and it went straight in with no issues. Thanks.

WE Scar-L, Replacement part 066

Is anyone else having fitment issues with this part? Mine is from Tactical Specialist Custom (their part no TS-69). I tried to install and the holes are out of alignment. The hinge rod gets hung up on the top hole. If it was just a little I could file it but it is a good 1.5 to 2mm. Then there would be the problem that the rod would be loose in the hole because it is friction on this piece (at least on the stock part) that keeps the rood in. Also, there is no way to ensure correct alignment by filing. I don't have the equipment to re-machine this thing. Am I missing something?

Not sure if anyone has reported the Mk17/SCAR-H as being confirmed, but here's a pretty bold hint:

http://www.blowbackarmory.net/category_s/48.htm

Probably means WE has told them they intend on it, but still could be a while (or even vaporware ).

Either way, do want.

Also, I'm in the open bolt club now. Anybody know where to grab replacement valve housings for CO2 magazines? I need the older longer ones, not what Airsoftbuddy has.

Well, long story short, my bolt stop worked last night, now today when I fire it the bolt doesnt lock back on empty mags. Still works if I manually engage it.

Did you ever dremel the little nub off the boltstop? Qlong has a tutorial where he shows which part to remove.

This fixed all the problem with my open bolt A1 not locking back.

I don't know how to link to a specific post so here's a quote:

I grinded the extra bit of this off and now the extra spacing inside the receiver allows the catch to engage fully.

I received one just like that. Bought it off RedWolf. Don't even bother with TSC, they won't reply your mails. I sent RedWolf a message, accompanied with clear photos; they didn't even ask me to send the part back and sent a replacement right away.

What is their part number so I can try to find in their site? I searched under WE but nothing came up.

From AirsoftBuddy.
This is a way better design. Will result in less leaks for sure because of the way smaller circumference of the seal. The current design involves a huge gasket that runs the entire vertical length of the mag with 90 degree angles (on the gasket itself....a big no-no) in addition to multiple seal points for the 4 or 5 screws. It was an awful design to begin which basically guarantees leaks following any sharp jolts or venting. Those mags were the Achilles heal of the WE M4 system.

I'm happy to see WE actively addressing this issue. Too bad I have 16 mags of the current design already....they're manageable, but definitely high maintenance.

Of the 4 VN mags I have over the past several months, 0 have leaked even after venting, sitting on empty for a week, and dropping down a wooden staircase and onto ceramic tiling. Great mags!
