Also probably not a bad idea to google some pic first.....at least to see where the wear typically happens...

New Toy. Army Detonics .45

The recoil spring is pretty weak, makes the slide get hung up a mm from fully returning sometimes when it cycles due to the rubber seal on the magazine. Only remedy so far is to keep the seal lubed up with silicon. Anyone else have suggestions as to fix that?

Not mine, but taking the pic was fun. Raffling this off at a local gunshow.

And yeah. Purposely wearing a gun can look pretty bad. It doesnt help that nearly all airsoft guns use shitty metal with shitty paint, so you dont get that faded look that you see on a lot of firearms. Unless you go the whole mile and strip off the paint and chemically treat the metal.

Did that with one of my lugers.

The finish is nice! What do you mean by ''treating the metal'' ?

I still have yet to find a store that still sells it. But Birchwood Casey Aluminum black is a wonderful thing when it comes to airsoft metal. It achieves a similar effect to cold blueing on steel. I just cleared the metal of shitty WE paint and applied that stuff with cotton balls, then simply used it a bunch.

Simply handling the guns will wear the stuff off from the metals surface, something akin to what you'll find with a lot of older handguns. Holsters do a good number on them too.

This was what it looked like right after the metal treatment. Admittedly, kinda wish I kept it this way. But the aged look is nice too!

Nice. A quick Google made me stumble on one of your previous posts. I'll remember the name, might try something similar one day.

I still need a Airsoft pistol to start with eh. I have a steel BB gun, but nothing to show here.

New toy : WE M&P9 (with my RS TLR-1)

Surprisingly well made compared to what I'm used to with WE and recoil harder to what I'm used to on a GBB (even with CO²).

I'm back! Sold all my stuff a few years ago and now am working on a new game system. In the meantime here's my latest acquisition.

This time I'm working on a low-tech - low-speed setup and here's a WG M701 Revolver:
