Type 97s are even uglier than the AKs, but...
Type 97s are even uglier than the AKs, but they're also very well made and awesome options if you like bullpup guns or want RS quality but you don't like AKs.

The best way to stop BBs is to use something soft. I suggest a hanging sheet behind your targets, or just a cardboard box with jeans in it.
Hard materials deform the BBs and cause ricochets.

Keep your wood oiled though, otherwise it can crack if you live in dry areas. The wood ages nicely if it is kept oiled.
