Tightbore barrel compatible?

hi,

im looking at changing the barrel in my JG m4 sir, im looking at barrels at VelocityArms here in Canada, and sure enough, there 90% sold out.

if i get a Element 6.04 barrel made for M16/AUG/249/M14 @ 510mm, will it still fit in my JG M4 sir? if so, all i'd have to do is cut it down to fit?

thanks,

ginnz.

no, dont buy a longer one then cut it, go to another site and get the right length. redwolf, ehobby and WGC carry many brands and lengths.

It's best to get the apropriate length for your gun, of which is 363mm.

In my personal opinion I'd say the EdGi 6.01mm Tightbore. Just a slight word of caution about them though. They are a pain in the ass to get in Canada and quite pricey but worth every penny and hassle.

well, its a CQB, and i want to have the longer barrel... I want to get the CA M15A4 with RIS and crane stock, but apparently, its tough to get. The CQB version is easier so i thought i might get tbhat instead

I believe that corresponds to a 14.5" outer (standard M4 length?).

Don't cut the barrel. They're precision made. if you cut them you should AT LEAST crown the end of the barrel. It's recommended that you don't as you start to mess up the end of your precision barrel.

sounds fair, but i could crown it myself, as i have done it on some of my varmint guns in the past..... my 22-250 had 1 inch taken off the barrel and a countersunk crown i did myself..... i just didnt think there would be much metal on these inner barrels as to warrant a crown, but i guess ill see for myself when i dis-assemble my M4.... :-)

at this point there will be no need to cut anything down, as i found a proper barrel, but in the future i may need to if i do a custom build, with a suppressor, or something. its all good to know, though.
