Help me with my shopping list - TM Hi-Capa 5.1
I just bought a TM 5.1. I need magazines, and biodegradable BBs.
I'd also like a fiber-optic front sight. I don't want to place my order, and find out in a month that I should've also bought {fill-in-the-blank}. My goal for this gun is practical shooting (no skirmish/outdoor games). Anything else I should buy for this? What vendor would you choose? (I'm in the US, if that makes a difference). Thanks for your help! |

Talk to Illusions, he knows alot about hi-capa and he is known for building hi-capasa.
He can get you a list of what parts you need. And the price range you're looking at, and it would be easier for you since you live in the US. It also depends what division you are shooting at. Open or Standard. |

In Ontario, C.A.P.S. we have an indoor range/arena where we practice and have matches/tournaments. Weights really don't matter in indoors, but I use mid range .25g. |

Beyond that, you can start looking in to internal upgrades such as reinforced/reprofiled hammer/sear sets as well as other upgrades to boost power, durability, cycling speed, accuracy, etc. You'll also want to get reinforced (metal) magazine base pads, because the stock ones are extremely prone to flying off after dropping to the ground just a couple of times. Once they fly off once, they'll do it ALL the time. It's extremely annoying. I have custom made metal base pads in stock as well as all other components you're looking for. US pricing is also available.

The lighter the BB fired, the larger the grouping spread. With that said, do you HAVE to get biodegradable BBs? If so, try Bioval BBBMax, otherwise, any of those other starch based biodegradable BBs are absolutely GARBAGE when it comes to performance. |

I prefer biodegradable, so I don't have to clean-up as much. Also, my "shooting range" invloves opening the back door to my garage, and shooting into the yard. So far, I've been happy with the first bag of BBs i bought, which were Airsplat 20gr (which I use in a KJW propane-powered GBB). |

Not an actual web URL. I don't have the time to maintain a full out business on the side.
I just run off the ASC forums: ILLusion Kinetics |

magwell
metal slide upgraded recoil spring + some kind of buffer tightbore air-seal houp SD POM nozzle lightweight BBU fiber front sight (red is nice...I find green gets washed out depending on the background...but that's a personal preference) That's pretty much it for durability and a bit of accuracy/speed. Then move on to the trick parts (valves/sears/etc....)...change one thing at a time. Shoot 0.25/0.28's at a min. 0.30's might be just fine at that range...maybe a little slow. Buy extra mags (1 or maybe two more than you need) Best of luck! Tys |

Lucky for you, you live in the US. Get yourself a new mid-frame.
Some of the pistols here. Check them out, might give you an idea. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=74482 |

On a cost benefit ratio scale, replacement receivers offer very little. It's mainly for aesthetics.
You're better off spending that money on upgrading other components first if cosmetics aren't important to you. |

I can help you with everything except the gun.
BBs and mag would have to be ordered in on a preorder. Everything else is in stock and ready to ship. |
