MP5 systema gearbox

I recently bought a Systema gearbox for my MP5 and since it came with 170 spring, I asked at the shop to replace it with a smaller one.
The gun never exceeded 370, although I asked for 120 spring.
I decided to open the gearbox and surprise, the spring was broken and the spring guide had 2 pieces of plastic instead of bearing.
Is this normal for a Systema mechbox or the seller did some fishy things?

I'm surprised a $200+ Systema mechbox contains Area 1000 parts. Isn't Systema Area 1000 their budget line?

It's possible the shop swindled you. Calcity (the store, nolonger in existence) used to have some shady workers (now in jail for other crimes) who would do gunwork but actually steal your upgrade/good parts and replace them with junk and hope the newbie player would be too afraid to open their gun to ever look.

m170 spring with ball bearing spring guide is not the best actuly its gonna wear out pretty fast due to the pression its gonna make. Well thats what i think since mine came from airsoft global witch i doubt they opend it to change the spring guide and it actuly came with this kind of spring guide.

Since the spring was downgraded, should I replace the guide with metal bearing?
Could this Area 1000 be related with my broken spring?

no spring guide wont break a spring its probably a bad spring thats all. Well if you downgrade the gearbox putting a ball bearing spring guide will only make it run smooter its not really necessary.

BTW here what a area 1000 looks like

If its plastic middle, you got stolen. if it look like this 1 your ok.
