m102404, I know you said in one of your previous post to remove the 1st tooth. If you are counting from left to right.( piston, piston head, cylinder, etc. But, My seems to just make it. Even when I apply pressure, so it acts like the mechbox is closed, it looks fine. I'll take a picture.

If I said to remove the 1st tooth...I was entirely wrong!!

I count the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc...teeth of the piston...starting from the open end that the spring goes into. i.e. the tooth of the piston that is engaged first by the sector gear.

Edit: Please do take a pic. Again, my setup is with a v2 mechbox, MASK Sorbo Piston head, MASK Sorbo Cylinder head, PP hard piston. I pushed the piston forward, but did not hold it forward under pressure. I carefully aligned everything and slowly rotated the sector gear until it made contact. If the piston isn't sitting flat in it's final position...the sector gear can slip by.

It'd be interesting to see how a regular piston/piston head/cylinder head sets up in your mechbox...the MASK setup should definitely be "longer" than a regular one.

I must of worded it wrong, don't worry. The first tooth from the open end(female) where the spring goes into(male) has been removed. I have to take off a little of the second tooth as well, but just al ittle bit

Take a pic...I suspect you did remove the first tooth, and it's engaging nicely on the second tooth...

I posted pics that show which teeth I modded.

V2 gearbox as well, with Mask cylinder head pro and Mask piston head with bearings. The piston is stock, or whatever systema puts in there drop in mechbox.
I'm going to sound like a real tool here, but my photos are always too big to upload. How do you "shrink" them

HAHA, I knew what side of the piston you were talking about, I just didn't know how many teeth...thats all. Anyway, things are looking good, so I might start to put this back together now. Will update if anything goes wrong.

Ok, I have to make this quick. After yesterday's ordeal I have the results from which a took a systema drop in mechbox version 2, and replaced the stock piston head and cylinder head with a sorbo piston head and a sorbo cylinder head. Running a Firefox 11.1V battery the results were kinda what I expected. The gun wasn't really all that "quieter",but it did have a different sound to it. ROF did drop, because of removing the First and second tooth. I will be buying a new piston and keeping the teeth on this time. Will also replace the sorbo cylinder head with the stock head that came with my drop in mechbox and still keep the sorbo piston head. Will update when completed. Waiting for your results, m102404

I can't believe systema is still building their gear boxes with those crappy red pistons.

I have been thinking about putting the Mask sorbo setup in my v2 gearbox and was trying to find out if im going to need to remove teeth. after looking at your photo i think im going to get away with not having to do much to my Element Piston.

what do you think? i have to file it a bit to fit my Star gearbox as its a little differant at the back as it have a quick release spring

Current setup

Guarder high speed revolution Motor
Guarder Steel Gears
Element Piston
Systema Area 1000 piston head
Systema tight barrel
Guarder hop-up rubber and H Hop
9.6v 2400mAh Battery
