Mounting a KOBRA
Hey everyone. Just wondering how the KOBRA sight is intended to mount? I've been looking into them and just want to get my facts straight obviously. How does the side mount work? Also Any tidbits of info or advice you might have are welcome.

Theres two versions of the (real steel) Kobra one with a weaver, one with the standard side mount.
The side mount is a clamp system, slides onto the AK side rail and you clamp it down. Pretty solid system. If you've got a AK Clone sometimes the side rails are much smaller then the real steel type so you may need to shim it i've seen.

Well I've got a scratch built AK-47 with an Element body, Any idea how much work is required for something along those lines? There's no side mount on it, Is that something that can be added or is it part of the reciever?
Thanks alot so far. |

I've heard of folks drilling the body and riveting the side rail on. If you have a folding stock you can't fold it though with the optic installed.

Do they go where the rivets naturally go on the receiver? Like an element body has all the holes and rivets to be added. Sorry for all the questions but there isn't a whole lot on this for airsoft and just looking for someone with experience.

COCKS, I guess I'll have to get a template or something and practice on my busted up plastic receiver. Thanks.

You wont get far drilling and tapping an Element receiver... element uses some of the whitest metal I've ever seen.
