Two of each, with lotsa sauce.

Looking back on my airsoft years, it's clear that I have bought at least two of each of the guns I used on the field.

It's come to my mind now that, considering the time and money it takes to get spare parts, when they are available or not simply discontinued, time can be better used by simply getting two of the same AEG or pistol.

It's also obvious that they produce a very insufficient number of some of the parts you will have to replace like hop rubbers, and some very important parts are not produced anymore (hello Tanaka), which makes me seriously consider molding some more.
I'd mold hop rubbers and cylinder locks!
how do you mold rubber? is it more difficult than resin?

Discuss?

depends on the rubber. i know we use rubber duplication molding all the time in theatre. once you have the original, making the cast is easy; its choosing the right type of rubber and heating it properly.

for molding something as dependent on consistancy and elasticity, i wouldnt try a hopup. maybe a nice rubber buttstock end.
