Importing a radio

I realize the 5W range is not 'legal' in Canada but does customs actually stop them at the border?

GP68's seem to be the preferred radio and I'm assuming they pass customs. I'm looking at getting a QUANSHENG TG-45AT UHF from 409 shop (hongkong) but I can't find many reviews of 409shop or Quansheng radio's except 1 ASC member saying it's good.

Anyone know the answer or have an opinion of the radio?

As far as I know, a 5W radio is legal in Canada, but one needs a basic license to use one (if using for frs channels, most get away with it for airsoft use). For ordering one from out of country, there is no way customs will seize one, it's a freaking radio!!!!

After hearing a friend getting a stick battery seized because it was a 'silencer' I usually just flip a coin, pick some god from a list and hope for the best.

The situation was resolved after and he got the battery in short time, but still... :S!
