Leaving Battery In Gun

Hey ASC, I have a 9.6V nunchuck battery that I use in my crane stock of my M15A4. Would I damage my gun or battery if I leave it plugged in? I use deans connectors btw. The reason why im asking is because I dont want to insert/plug the battery every single time since this will increase the chance of tearing/ripping the wires and plug.

I ensure u that the gun is on safety when not in use to prevent drying firing.

Thoughts? Advice?

It won't damage the gun or battery, but it's a good idea to disconnect it when not in use.

Yea, for safety it's best to unplug it but it won't do any harm to the gun not too. When the trigger isn't being pulled the circuit isn't complete so there's nothing to be done to any of the electronics of the gun. It's the exact same as having it unplugged.

don't mean to jack the thread, but it may be relevant:
I don't know why, but my battery drains itself while connected to my gun...
I run a 8.4v crane stock battery too, and I didn't want to disconnect so I left it in, 2 days later tried firing a few shots, started to die.

It must be shorting out somewhere, Check your wiring as you may have a skinned wire somewhere. Also Check your trigger switch their could be a small piece of something metallic wedged in there.

Worst thing that can happen is it can start a fire anyways. With rupping wires and torned, who knows if both wires come into contact? Why not replace the wires with quality wires, shrink wrap them for thickness, and don't have to worry about it. You're going to have to take off the battery and connect it back when it dies out, when charging, and switching over the battery. Wires are like 3$, shrink tubes are another 3-5$ for a pack. Better to use a couple of bucks then to waste a 30$ battery or a 600$ gun.

Yup, ive done all that... all wires replaced, shrink wrap in place, hobby flexible wire used, and I even put some electrical tape. And im very careful when inserting and taking out the battery to ensure that i dont pull on nething since the wires can sometimes get caught in the holes and crevices of the stock.

Also note, with PTWs, you shouldnt leave the battery hooked up, the electronics will drain slowly the battery till its dead, (very dangerous with lipos), but with a normal aeg you will be fine

Same with mosfet circuits.
