*typo* I ment Fa-mas G2.

hey guys. so i just got a tm fa-mas sv for cheap from a friend. now its got me considering doing a fl impression.

prob is i know the sv was a tm idea. how ever it does seem to stem from the G2. how ever to make it a true g2 i need some info.
for one the g2 uses a stanag mag. is anyone aware of an adapter to do this like the g36 has? if not how hard would it be to actually mod the mag well to use them?

the next thing is the g1 has the built in bipod like the f1. is this even interchangable? or would i be doing a bunch of drilling?

i may just consider trading to a f1 but a fa-mas g2 would sure be unique.

thanks in advance.

*face palm* I was looking at a picture of the G2. Which is in service in the french navy and other special french forces. Alright so G2 conversion not G1

a compairison of the two

This would be really interesting to make on a side note. Anyone one ever attempt that?

not that difficult. as long as you take your time and measure 3 times making sure everything lines up before the first cut, you should be okay.

That's an early prototype of the FAMAS for the FELIN program. the last model changed a lot.

I've held the real one once, it weights a dead donkey... It's fine for a heavy caliber sniper rifle but not for a standard assault rifle.

I'm pretty sure it will tank like the XM29 OICW.

One the the most stupid development ever... and I'm French.

Little edit : In the special forces the FAMAS isn't really used, G36, SIG 55X and lately HK416 (the 1er RPIMA for example). Some used the M4 a while ago. Don't know if they still have them... they might be replaced by HK416 (sounds like a good idea this time).

xm29oicw? that looks a hell of alot like the FN2000. Yah they are bulky, I dunno why bullpups always tend to go that way and try to look like future weapons. The p90, aug, and famas are practical thats just.... I don't even know

Well, you know the TAVOR or TAR21 ? The IMI developped it because for urban warfare and close quarter combat the M4 and other normal sized carbine with barrels of 14.5 or even shorter are still too long.

With bulpup design you can have a barrel of good length while the rifle is still pretty short.
