It comes down to people knowing their limits. If there is a guy with an aeg inside that building and he is firing over 430 fps, you really need to check your team and gear before you go tearing down the door. If you run in there with just safety glasses on than yeah you deserve to lose a tooth and maybe some cheek skin because the first thing you put through any opening won't be your center of mass I'll tell you that. Same for that guy holding up in that building, before taking up that defensive position he should've thought about who could be coming in after him. If you wanna play CQB than prepare either mentally or physically.

No, there are plenty of people who play with lower velocities who probably get out and play a lot more often than I do, and I have nothing against someone playing at a lower velocity; I also agree that a player's guns velocity has nothing to do with his/her skill. However, if you have ever played paintball before you will know that paintballs do indeed hurt a lot more; this is what me and the community I play with have come to understand. We don't actually fire 0.2g at idiotic velocities, we all generally fire 0.25g to 0.3g bb's to bring our velocities down below 450fps. (yes I understand the power is still there. Anyone with a brain however will note the improved range and accuracy using the heavier bb over the 0.2g) However, a paintball travelling at 300fps has much more power than a 0.2g bb fired at 550fps. So, if 550fps is retarded for airsoft, than paintball must be crazy. Since I don't see anything daredevilish about paintball, I refuse to see anything dangerous about high velocity airsoft guns. If you want to keep your teeth, then wear a mouth guard. Face? Wear a mask. We don't use these high velocities to hurt people. We use them so that we can acheive a greater range and accuracy out of our guns through using heavier bb's. Makes the game more realistic when almost everyone in the game can drop a mansized target from 125' to 150' with one shot. We use the extra power to gain accuracy and range and to help detect hits, not to cause intentional extra harm to people.
