There's only one or two deepfire parts that are worth buying...the barrels being most notable (it's an available alternative sometimes).
But otherwise...despite showing promise when they first started putting out parts...I'd unreservedly recommend buying another brand for the internals (i.e. Modify, Prometheus, etc...). Try to minimize the mixing of internal brands...stick to one make and it'll probably make life easier. Modify makes some great stuff...I haven't personally tried their mechboxes yet so no comment there though. Tys |

aka SNK or Shaniqua

I've seen two $30+ Deepfire pistons explode where $10 regular ones lasted 10 times longer.
Deepfire gearbox with me right now - the bushings that came with it do that fit into it. Pathetic for a gearbox shell that is over $100 Deepfire blows.

Wow that is rather disappointing. Guess I'll stick with prommy or modify

Well, if you look at it like either of those two are 1.5x more expensive than DF parts, how many times will you pay 1x for the DF parts replacing the ones you know will either break, not work or be way out of tolerance? Modify is rather inexpensive, yet the quality is better than even parts like Systema et al.

Does anyone have experience with other companies?
Namely ones I've been looking at are ones like HurricanE, Prowin, Action, Mad Bull? Specifically I'm looking at gearbox shells (HurricanE shell, yea or nay?), FTK's (probably going with a Modify FTK), gearsets (probably going to go with the Modify modular "pre-shimmed" gearset), and other internals (ie. Prowin Hop up unit, yea or nay? and rubbers (Prommy Soft? Guarder Clear/Black? SystemA?)).

Well, I would recommend Modify parts over most others. I've tried various brands, including the horribly overpriced Systema stuff, and to date, nothing's been as much of a perfect fit and flawless performance as Modify parts. They're reasonably priced compared to some of the higher end brands, and they last longer.
To me, it's not modified unless it's Modify.

Action = garbage you have to know which batch of X part to buy or you are screwed. Madbull = average. Nothing to write home about, pretty blah, not particularily a good bang for buck but they have some convenient harder to find parts like C clips for hopup units. Prowin hopup = win in AK Systema hopup = fail, unless you need that brass ring. Guarder clear is good as is prommy soft and hard. |

King Arms makes a kick ass V2 reinforced mechbox, and for a while I was buying them from airsoftparts.com for about $40 each.

That was the old gear cage, their new "SMOOTH" cage fits perfectly
