Ok, so I've realized that my M4 is far off still. Would a magpul grip be too off for a copy of the MK18 Mod0? I think I might lose the rail covers, get a QD silencer, and get someone to paint it up. What else is wrong with my gun?

Yea, from that picture I'm getting that exact aimpoint, looking into getting that silencer and the rear sight. I guess all that's left is a paint coat?

Alright, a little update. I'm getting a proper vert grip, and LMT rear sight! The only things left is my Aimpoint, Silencer, paintjob, and some wear and tear.

Which mount is closer to the Mk18 Mod0? The cantilever, or the normal straight mount? Also, will either raise the Aimpoint reticule above the irons?

The last Mk18Mod0 that I saw had the straight riser, just like in that poster. Should give you a 1/3rd co-witness.

They also were running just the flashlight, not the combo grip or the laser. Then again it was a bunch of USN boarding party guys, not SEALs. So maybe the SEAL loadout would differ slightly, but I think keeping the weight off is a consideration because that isn't a terribly light fore-end.

Oh dang...it is too. Hm. I don't really want to replace the whole outer barrel assembly...at least not right now. Would it still look close at this length? I'm just going for the general look, I realize with my age..and my job that I can't exactly get everything I want haha

1) Buy a real AR
2) Spend a pile of cash on pimping it out
3) Shoot the hell out of it
4) Take off the shit that wasn't worth the money and you don't use anyways
5) Repeat procedure with airsoft gun

Unless you make an airsoft gun go BOOM instead of zing, pew or puff, it's not really ever going to be realistic. so roll with what you like.

My AR looks nothing like stock, and it has changed looks a couple of times (and cost abundle each time). Airsoft is 90% fashion and 10% utility.

Haha I realize that, but I'm just making sure it's not going to look like a full length M16 with a 7" rail system on it... :P

I have a midleght gas system with a 12" rail. That rail was really intended for a full-length gun (M16), but with a low-profile gas block, it covers all but 4" of barrel.

It's finally done (until next week).

Bushmaster XM15 with 16" 1/9 barrel
Larue 12.0 rail
Troy gas block
Vltor Mod-Pod bipod by Tango Down
Tango Down vertical grip
Magpul MIAD
Magpul trigger guard
Magpul UBR
Magpul MBUS set
Eotech 551
Eotech 3X with FTS
That's a real AR, and the shit on it is all real. It is very comfortable to shoot, but still weighs 11 lbs empty.

The correct mount would be the Wilcox. Element makes a cheap copy if that's what you are looking for.
