Seeing a trigger lock on a gun immediately makes it clear that the gun is real - there would be no doubt about whether it's a replica/deactivated one or not - a replica or a deactivated one wouldn't need a trigger lock. That's why it's harder to explain with a trigger lock - there's no reason for a deactivated gun or a replica to have one.

And assuming that you've got an AEG or pistol up there, it'll most likely be a copy of a restricted or prohibited weapon.

Quote:
Restricted and prohibited firearms

* Attach a secure locking device so the firearms cannot be fired and lock them in a cabinet, container or room that is hard to break into; or
* Lock the firearms in a vault, safe or room that was built or modified specifically to store firearms safely.
* For an automatic firearm, also remove the bolt or bolt carrier (if removable) and lock it in a separate room that is hard to break into.

So, while you might think it would appear safer, you'd still appear to be breaking the law in a very significant way.

Re: Random questions about wall-hangers...

There are no laws being broken. It is not illegal to own a replica of a prohibited weapon.

Once the peorson who is seeing your stuff realizes that they are replicas and not real steal, there is not issue. Trigger locs are just to "show" they are safe. How is one to know there aren't batteries inside? How is one to know it's not capable to be fired?

Yes.

There's just no point. Unless it's a real firearm it doesn't need a trigger lock. So what if there's a battery in it? So what if it's capable to be fired? That's just you being dumb and leaving a battery in it.

Seeing how some airsoft is seen as "unregisterable firearms" it would be a wise idea to leave them in a state of "dissasembly" (battery out would inhibit the gun from firing if ammunition was loaded into it )

As far as everyone I've asked here and all the nice links they've provided me are concerned, not to mention the new CBSA agent that works down the hall, I should be able to bring everything except the metal receiver. The m203 is staying here as are the rounds and my sig (sadly).
As for my M4, I plan on breaking it all down and labelling everything clearly (not to mention claiming it in my shipment). Whats left after the metal receiver is 95% of the gun.... seems like it'd be worth to me.

as for the trigger locks... well, its a bit much.... which is why I asked if it was regs. I think there' a bit of paranoia goin on here.
So what if you need to explain to the cops? If some one sees a M4 on your wall and recognizes it for what it is and freaks out, I don't think a trigger lock is gonna stop them from calling the cops or ask a question. Besides, if the weapon is made safe... no harm no foul. Making the weapon safe is the most one "should" do. everything else is overkill... especially since we're talking airsoft. That being said... hanging in a Non-public area is best, otherwise, lock em up.

I used to have my guns on the wall, but after we moved and the lay out of my new place its just easier to keep it all locked in the case, the batt etc in another part of the house. i do it for multiple reasons, IE kids running through the house, nosy neighbours, etc.

Here's a link to the aforementioned armory thread, though eventually it degraded into another post your gun collection thread.
