Madbull Noveske 12.658" and Outer Barrel Sizing
Hello,
I purchased the Madbull Noveske 12.658" Rail and I was wondering which outer barrel will allow the KX3 flashhider to sit with the back flush with the end of the rail. I have attached a picture from the Madbull site and to show exactly what I want. I was looking at the DYTAC 12" Recon Outer Barrel, though I don't know how they measure their barrels. If it's from the lip to just before the threads that would be perfect. Anyone have any ideas? As well, how well do DYTAC barrels fit in Madbull bodies? Any information you can provide would be appreciated. |

Anyone have any ideas on this?
I may end up just buying the DYTAC 12" barrel, though I would like to know ahead what will work best. Just need this last bit of info then my Magpul Noveske M4 will be complete! |

I ended up testing the rail with my M4 length outer barrel and I am very happy with the look so I have decided that is the barrel I will be using.
I have attempted to use my Classic Army M4 barrel though it will not work with a Madbull upper receiver unless you do a bit of dremeling. So I am keeping the CA barrel intact and now all I need is a motor to build a third M4. Personally I went for the Madbull M4A1 length (14") outer barrel to get the best fit and look, as well I can still use my 363mm inner barrel. All I need now is a few more parts and I'm done! Just need: AN/PEQ-16, Madbull LiFePo 9.6v and a Trigger Master. Oh and one more thing, if you want to get the G&P bolt/dust cover that opens with the charging handle, don't bother as it does not fit with Madbull bodies, it sits way to low. I will be trying another brand and I will post with the results if it works out. Hopefully the information about how the parts fit together helped someone and if you have any questions feel free to ask. |

Why not use the madbull matching outer barrel?

Which matching outer barrel?
I was told by their support to use the M733 barrel that they have though that will be to short. And I don't want to go for a longer barrel as I will be building more of an M16 length one in the future. I have attached an image of the barrels that they have, please let me know which one you are talking about. |

I'm 99% sure that it's made for their M4A1 (330mm) outer barrel if you want that look in the first pic.
I say 99% sure, only because I can't remember the exact spec of the last rifle I put together with that rail...and it was a different make of outer barrel. |

Ok, awesome, that is the barrel I have ordered.
I may in future order the Dissipator 16" and a new tight bore, but I already have a Prometheus 363mm so I might as well use that one for now and I really want the look like in the picture in my first post. Thanks for the information! |

Their barrels are adjustable by about 1cm...loosen two allen screws, adjust to length, tighten up the screws. (unless they've changed things)
That'll help tuck the pig in a bit more or move it out to clear the RIS. Just remember to loctite (blue) the screws or it might work loose. Forgot to do that to heatstrokes barrel and it fell off. I heard his buddies laughed pretty hard so some good came out of it in the end. Tys |
