Semi auto only mod?

he guys just picked up my first dmr the sr12, i traded my first ever airsoft gun for it, my beloved g36. My gun doc fully built the internals with high torque gears, 125 spring, sorbo pads modify piston head and so on. now im wondering if you can mod the selector plate for semi auto only instead of having to buy the mosfet switch. I want to do that and also the tappet plate mod at the same time while my gear box is apart, because its a pain to get that 125 spring back in. Any one have any info, i tried searching the site but got nothing. thanks in advance!

the mosfet switch does not go into the gearbox as far as I am aware, from what I have read it goes between the battery and the motor so you would not need to pull the gearbox apart to install that.

Put your selector switch to Semi, remove selector switch.
Add a piece of black electrical tape to cover up the hole if you want.

Easiest way, not the most practical or 100% safe IMO.

But works!

Sometimes its best to expand the search beyond the realm of ASC. First hit on google I found using search parameters of "how to mod selector plate to semi only".

http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t149367.html

There was a link to another webpage

http://www.020mag.com/tecnico3.php?story=15

Unfortunetly its in spanish so you may wish to run it through google translate

Remove the selector plate.

Have fun if the gun semi-locks though

Another way is to have the upper and lower apart, switch to semi, mark the gearbox where the selector plate is. Take out the gearbox and use hot glue or something to stop the selector plate from moving any farther back. Done. With this, you still have the safety but can't move to auto.

Same idea, more profesional look.

Mark where the selector plate rear stops.
Drill and tap a small hole, and install a set screw in it. Tread lock as it won't be against anything.

You can remove it if you need to, it is not destructive and it will let you play at games where you HAVE to lock semi. Most of the time, you need to mod it in a way that will make it nearly impossible to unlock on the field... that is once since you would need to remove the grip, motor and mechbox from the receiver...

This is what I've done in the past with Armalites over 400fps and set for semi only. It works, can't slap to full auto because of the set screw, and unless the player has the right Allen key with him to set it to "cheat" mode, it works. Everthing after falls into trust mode.

yep...the set screw is the way to go. Have built a couple of SPRs that way without failure,,,just make sure that your set screw is not too long so it doesn't protrude inside of the gearbox (common sense)

Or you can cut half of the selector plate off, where the thumb selector thing hits the selector plate, mark it half way across the circular indent, cut it off there, so the safety lever should push it back far enough to engage semi, but not far enough to engage full-auto.
