Micro switch benifits?
Hey guys and gals, I'm planing on modifying a V2 GB switch assembly to a micro switch. I've seen the plans and it's not really hard to do but, I want to hear anyone with experience using them. I will be using a MOSFET to prevent arcing so no difference with a conventional switch assembly. So anyone that has installed, mod or fired a gun (preferably and M4) with a micro switch, I would be greatly appreciated if you can share your experience. I don't want to go and waste time and money and get no real benefit. Thank you.
Tom

So if you have a MOSFET, why use a microswitch?
My experience, is that CA249 fail horribly on triggermasters since they're micro switches are crap, so buy a good one lol |

I've seen some M4 from Japan with all their fancy electronic and some were using Micro switch rather than the copper prong contacts. It got me thinking about the benefit of that system. I believe that it can give you instant trigger response and no half pulls. I'm only using a basic MOSFET because I don't have any use for all the other features. I might just go and build it for testing. Don't think many players are using micro switch here.

Now, I'm no expert but doesn't using a MOSFET eliminate the resistance and what not of the entire switch assembly or atleast the current traveling through it? So why upgrade it if there is no current flowing through it anyways? I fail to see the benefit.

I'm not 100% sure either about it's benefits but after see so many Jap M4 with them, there must be a good benefit. The japs are really good a tuning aegs and so if they're using them, I want to know why. Call me crazy but they build some of the craziest guns that I've ever seen. I believe that because it's just a button with such a small trigger travel, your trigger pulls will be a lot faster than the conventional assembly. Think about it. With the conventional assembly, with every trigger pull, there is that long travel before it makes contact. So with a small travel time, your shots will be instant. Just my theory.

i have a micro switch in my VFC 416 in a ProWin split gearbox, and i had to modify my switch assembly in order for semi to still function. the reason why i put a micro switch is really simple: i use LiPo batteries with an Extreme-fire FCU in my buffer tube, and i never liked the feel of the normal switch in AEGs. with a normal switch there is no real positive feel of the switch through the trigger, so you have to pull the trigger fast and all the way to make a quick shot. on the other hand, the micro switch gives the trigger a nice "click" feel when pulled. this i find advantageous as you can feel when the switch assembly makes contact with the micro switch, so you can pull the trigger partially and not worry about the gun shooting untill you push the micro switch. a micro switch should not be used without at least a mosfet, since a normal battery setup will cause an arc and can "weld" the micro switch closed.

STAR M4s come stock with micro switches too, pain in the ass to install a triggermaster on them
