ICS M4 stripping piston

hi my ISC M4 is stripping the piston the stock one went after 1000 ish rounds and now that i have an new one in it is starting to strip as well. The gears seem to be shimmed well and its only the stock spring. Also it seems to be the last 3-4 teeth on the gear that are ripping the piston.

Do you have a clear ICS?

If so, the lower body is not molded to spec. You have to shim the mechbox up by placing a strip or two of electrical tape between the mechbox and body, on the under side.

Yes it has a clear lower 1/2. I just opened the lower gearbox today and nothing is out of order. The anti reverse seems fine and none of the gears have any wear on them. i could try the tape thing but ill have to order a new piston again

I would replace the piston with one with metal teeth. I have had similar issues with LIPO batteries and it seemed to disappear with metal tooth pistons.

Yeah but with metal teeth and a lipo... I pity ur gearbox when it goes. Even with a lipo u shouldn't be stripping teeth guys and replacing with metal just took the weak point out which means next time will be catastrophic failure of metal on metal rather than the plastic teeth doin their thing. U want that weak point there or ur askin for trouble. The teeth grinding are signs of a problem and removing the sign don't fix the problem so I'd stick with plastic and get it to work properly.
