Word is t_hum (Cradle Airsoft) is working on new mag internals with larger gas and BB capacity than the stock thermolds, AND able to fit into real steel 30rd USGI or PMag shells, due out some time next year.

Looks like lack of aftermarket support is now officially a non-issue.

Before I paint mine, I wanted to get some video of the mechanism (hammer, sears...) in action. the main focus of the video is the clear body and the internals while in operation.

the the dry fire toggle doesn't want to stay down so I had to hold the bolt release to dry fire.

I am running with the RS MIAD grip. The only mod I had to do was to add a small piece of plastic in the grip (appox 1/2"x1/4"x1/8") for the selector detent spring to sit on.So any M4 style GBBR grip should slide on.

I used Element G27 grip meant for WA-GBB and it's a nice, tight fit, no wobbles.

Used the search tool in the thread without success (I must say out of the 7 pages, there's a lot of stuff not to relevant to the fun itselft... but anyway).

What's the verdict on the kick, and compared to the WE and WA offerings? I was told it's very similar to the WE and WA M4 systems, but the WE SCAR CO2 kicks harder... What do you think?

Oh, and for the STANAG I figured I should just ask them. Got the answer within 24h:

Quote:
XXXXXX,
Thanks for the email. The magazines will be housed in real magazine shells and therefore will be as realistic as possible. Our time line for production and release is, at the moment, quite uncertain. We have made several design revisions lately that have forced us to take a few steps back. We hope that by doing so the magazines will be accepted by the airsoft community as the highest quality and most reliable magazines produced for GBB rifles to date. MSRP is also hard to gauge as until we receive manufacturing quotes which is at best several months away. I wouldn't expect the price to be below $60 MSRP.

Having said that, if you are determined to get a GBB rifle, the KJW is the absolute best there is. I wouldn't let the C8 magazines keep you from buying it. I would certainly expect that stanag magazines are on the way from a variety of manufacturers over the next year, ourselves included.

If you have further questions please don't hesitate to email us.

Thanks,

Travis Humble

Just wanted to mention that the flash suppressor isn't threaded but the brass protector is. I didn't realize this at first as I am so used to removing the grub, but if you leave the grub screw on and twist then it and the flash suppressor will come off, revealing your CCW threads. Not sure why it was designed this way, but you can add other suppressors, etc to the threads.

For someone that is rather enterprising you could try this for a metal body, assuming they are 1:1 exact for size (anyone with a real lower could simply stick your KJ upper on it and see if it matches up).

1. Purchase an 80% lower receiver from Dlask arms. It's not a firearm yet so anyone can purchase it. Only $220 CDN so its still cheaper than most metal bodies.
2. Remove all parts from the plastic body.
3. Use plastic body as a drilling template for the 80% lower.
4. Install all parts onto the now completed lower.

If you have access to a milling machine, you could purchase the billet lower for $45 CDN from Dlask and finish those to match the KJ lower.

Project for someone? ;-) Just be careful you don't finish it to work in a real AR... then you have 30 days to ...

Bamp, I've been wondering if anyone got news of the USGI (STANAG) or PMAG that were said to be coming to the platform...

Travis told me last week he was about 30 days to have a working prototype. So i guess it's OK to hope that next summer they will be available !!!
