AUG short barrel.

So Ive ordered the parts to do the swap to a short barrel and am working on the disassembly of the old barrel set.
I have it all dissasembled except I cant get the old outer barrel peice off from the front grip piece (The one with the serial # on it)

On the other side there is a little tab that seems movable, I pulled on it with pliers and it moved a bit but not enough to remove the outer barrel. Other than this thing I cant see anything else holding it in.

do I just need to pull harder on the tab or is there somthing Im missing?

thanks

There's another grub screw under the vert grip.

Stick something narrow into the end of the vert grip and lift up the end cap. Unhook the spring with some pliers or something (don't stab yourself with the sharp, spring propelled hook end)
Knock the pin that holds the vert grip out of the barrel hub.

Look at the hub from below, you should see the grub screw right where the end of the vert grip sticks in to lock in it's vertical position.

Thanks for the info!

So if I understand you correctly you have to remove the cap on the bottem of the vert grip to continue to the next steps you mention?

yes
(to remove it you need to lift it, and then pull like there's no tomorrow, it's hooked to a spring.)
