WE G39C G36C and eotech 551 replica red dot

Does anyone have any experience mounting a Eotech style red dot on the standard G39C top rail. I recently purchased a G&P 551 ELOD holosight and I can not get it to zero for me, at it's lowest settings its still about 3 inches higher than the impact spot. Are there any other clones that work, anything i can do to get my current one to work?

OK first thing : you are not suppose to get the dot on the impact, don't feel bad that's the first thing I teach my trainees and they all do the mistake.
The dot is suppose to be in parallel line with the barrel which means, with the dot more or less 2.5 inches above barrel the impact is supposed to be 2.5 under the point you aim. It's your job to work with the distance. The red dot is there for faster and easier target acquisition, not to do your job

Second : the G&P is just a repack of a chinese cheap copy (I used to have both). You will not get a very good setting and the recoil will mess with it quickly.
If you can sell it and buy a Vortex red dot or other cheap RS sight for what you want (http://www.opticsplanet.net/vortex-r...sfrd-hunt.html). It's still cheap and you'll have better results.

Thanks I was under the impression that most red-dots do pinpoint to the target not inches above it. Any of the configurations I have seen the Red-Dot is on top of the point of impact. Is this problem going to be with any eotech style red dot for the G36c, since the rail is higher than ontop of the barrel or do the clones simply not have enough adjustment range.

it's because you don't have enough distance from the target. If you're going for point of aim, point of impact, in cqb you'll need about 50 feet and for out doors, about 100-150 feet. At close range, the optics won't be able to go low enough for point of aim, point of impact.
