TM M16a1/vn, upgrading to metal body help.
Hey there. Just landed a TM M16a1vn in a trade and i'm looking to replace the externals.
From what I understand i'll be needing a new outer barrel assembly and hopup for the metal body. (Planning on going G&P with this one, they have an a1 receiver available.) Old TM outer barrel designs are a lot different than what they do today, so it makes things kind of complicated.
I'm also curious, is the outer barrel on the M16a1 narrower than the a2? Madbull has an outer barrel for the a2 that i'm considoring. Just gotta make sure I don't have to buy a new front sight.
Is there anything else I should be looking for?
