Medic patch
I was wondering if I am allowed to wear a medic patch like this one on my airsoft uniform. Its basically a snake curled around a stick.
Can anyone wear this or are there any special responsibilities involved in wearing a medic patch. I got it because I am in the health field and just thought it reflected what I dedicated my professional life to. Thanks Last edited by fromkrypton; March 22nd, 2011 at 17:50.. |

Toronto Airsoft may or may nto be cool with the hot linking of the pic
Anyways, I'm sure theres lots of guys in Airsoft who wear Medical patches and "pretend" to be Medics in games. As long as you don't try to pass yourself off as something you aren't(ie saying you are a real qualified Medic/EMT) it's all good. |

I'd say it's ok but if there is a no duff situation likely all eyes are going to be looking toward you but then again why would anyone want to advertise they are a medic unless they absolutely had to it's like wearing a target I wouldn't wear one unless I was told to for example presence patrol where your there for the hearts and minds type deal but to be blunt, no there is no laws about this

Far as i'm aware, you're completely allowed.
I have a custom made brassard from CP gear with a big 'ole red cross on it(I only wish I had a better pic), and I wear it cause: One) I'm almost always the medic, and Two) I'm first aid qualified. It's made with 3M reflective thread so it's almost always visible(Damn you night games!)

When I say Medic, I mean for the sake of airsoft games.

Is there a doctor in the house?
We looked a while ago and Airsoft just doesn't have any MD's If you have the training and wear the patch, be nice and confir with the host let that person know your skilled and expect to get tapped in on a NO-DUFF. If you don't wear the patch your Joe Anonymous, but wearingthe patch you maybe expected to step up. Feel pretty stoopit if you don't have the skills. It's not like your wearing an Airbourne patch, no one expects that guy to HALO. Cheers |

In the US, the law is "impersonation" (for law enforcement). That means you can wear swat stickers, but the problem comes when you say you are, and try to make people do things.

From my experience CPR and first aiders know fuck all a good medic won't wait for someone to request for them they will be at the scene as soon as they can in a no duff situation ask darkangel I think it was him when he got shot in the mouth at udora a couple weeks ago I had no medic identifiers on

This discussion was actually very helpful. Think I will just refrain from wearing the patch to avoid any misunderstandings.

As soon as I get a no-duff, I drop my gun and start running, looking for the scene. Had a few of those so far, and even had to transport once to a hospital.
You can wear the patch all you want!
