AK re-assembly : The lost part.
This is my first post, since I can't find, even in the diagrams for this gun, this little part. I really, -really- hope i'm in the right section. I recently took apart a kraken (thank god for mechbox.com), to paint the reciever, and in about five minutes, i had it back up and assembled. But afterwards, I noticed a small part lying around on my white towel I had laid under there.
Anyone know what it is? Also : Does anyone know why the top battery cover is such a pain in the ass to put back on? Last time it took me five seconds to put it back, but now it's been five minutes and I still can't figure out why it wont just slap in there. |

Goes on to the rod of the fake bolt spring guide, kind of keeps the "bolt" from flopping around.
Not an essential but you may as well pop it back on. Remove the dust cover & take off the spring guide/bolt assembly then, hold the piece parrallel to the inside wall of the bolt and thead the spring guide through the first hole on the bolt, the spring and then the last hole on the rear of the bolt, if you get me. So that explains the little wobble on the bolt track there. Even though there was still a slight one even before I dis-assembled it. Thanks a lot for the help, I'll dis-assemble the upper reciever part tomorrow.
