VFC scar-l - stripped screw in pistol grip

Background: I was working on understanding the mechanics of the gun and managed to strip it down to remove the v.2 mechbox. The purpose was to downgrade the spring (out of the box, it shot 398-402 fps at 0.25 g). I had to stop at that point as I didn't have the appropriate hex key (0.035") to go further. Reassembled the gun and test fired it to confirm my understanding.

Then I found the appropriate key at Walmart. Restarted the teardown - and stripped one of the phillip screws that attaches the pistol grip to the mechbox.

To date, the following have been attempted without success:
- tried a screwdriver 1 size higher
- tried the rubberband trick
- tried tapping in a slot to turn it out
- tried a torx
- tried grabbing the head with a needlenose plier to wrench it out
- tried a strip screw remover
- currently applying JB weld and a spare allen key

Basically, the screw's stuck, and the available space in the grip really limits my options. I didn't think I overtightened, but then I didn't think the metal was this soft either.

Any other options I could try? If the JB weld doesn't do the trick, I'll need a gun-doc or machinist to drill out the screw and either tap new threads or install helicoils.

(The gun could still be gamed, but it's fps would likely restrict where I can play. )

It happened to my VFC M4 SOPMOD also, it seem like VFC tend to be over tighten their screw. After one hour of patience by using electric drill, I finally got the pistol grip out and got an extra screw from my desltop to replace. Hope it help. Most of the time, I manage to replace strip screw by rotary tool or drill.
