WE PDW: I broke something or a few things HELP!
Hi Guys
OK so I just got my WE PDW not to long ago and I was test firing it and then BAM... something snapped inside and I really don't know what to do from here. What happened first was that it was double feeding a few times. I kept shooting and then all of a sudden it locks up. I heard a something moving inside and I couldn't even open it properly because parts jammed and got stuck. After sometime I managed to get things sorted out and open the gun. I found I believe is the nozzle portion broke or the thing that feeds the bbs or something I don't know. I think its part 39 or 40 in the explosion diagram I'm using. If you take a look at the picture you can see the damage on the nozzle and the damage inside the gun. I lost the O ring on the nail looking piece of the nozzle as that got torn up good when I found it. I'm also worried that my hop up may have gotten damaged as well. I'm not sure. If some one can tell me what happened here that would be great. Also let me know what I could do to fix the problem and anything else I could have broken. Also wanted to confirm that is the bolt stop right in the pic? Thanks guys for your support. S |

Your bolt guide rod looks like it may have unscrewed itself. The photos are too blurry to see if the threads are stripped or if there's any damage to it, but it's a fairly common issue, and is why full upgrade kits are available for your specific version of PDW. It also has a tendency to snap and bend.
Check my sales thread, I recently posted up such a kit: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=495 Search string: RA-Tech Upgrade Package for WE PDW The upgrade kit replaces and reinforces the most commonly broken parts, as well as adding an NPAS system to your gun and improves the hop up system on the closed bolt PDW. Angels have been known to sing, when a PDW is fired with all of these parts upgraded. The bolt stop is the ping pong paddle that you hit to release the bolt. It's the right most image in your series of photos. It "stops" the bolt, locking it backwards when your magazine runs dry. Hence, the name: "bolt stop."

Hi Illusion
Thanks for posting. The threads weren't striped but bent a bit, I managed to file the damaged portions and can screw it back in. Bad thing is though I can't find the O ring... its soo tiny |

How's your hop up looking? Did it get torn?

Looks like WE forgot to add some loctite to the threads, just go buy some red loctite and screw it back in and it should hold permanently.

I'd suggest picking up an open bolt conversion kit... so much less hassle down the road

lol I don't know.... Didn't get a chance to pull it all a part yet. A member here actually convinced me to go open bolt so... I went with that instead.
Giving up on the closed bolt system just because I'm an idiot and I can't seem to asses the damage done so far. Not only that but I was having problems with the Bolt Locking back all the time with M4 mags I just purchased. And to think I only got this thing about three days ago Quote:
I really appreciate all the info guys. Thanks a bunch |

Did you turn on the bolt stop feature on the mag? Bolt stop can be disabled via the switch on the top of the mag.

Yhaa I turned on the bolt stop feature for dry firing. The new mags I had purchased were a very tight fit. I'd have to really push it in to click into place. That little extra push would push the bolt stop out about 1-2mm enough to stop the bolt with every shot.
