Socom Gear 1911 M.E.U slide set issue

Alright so i just got this slide set from Evike,

It's a tight fit on my Socom gear 1911 and when looking from the front the slide set is rubbing on the lower receiver. So every time it tries to cycle a shot the blowback pushes the slide back but won't come forward without helping it move forward.

What should i do?

the mag seats
the bb comes out
the slide just wont come forward on its own.

Does it just need worn in?

Either a stronger return spring, or some light sanding on the receiver and/or slide where the rails meet to create some clearance between the parts.

And liberal amounts of silicon oil.

no... a stronger spring is like putting a bandaid on a broken leg, it doesnt really help and its got nothing to do with the problem, the problem is the excess friction...

if its truly just too tight to cycle, put some pummice, or if you dont have any, you can even use toothpaste (or any other type of paste/powdered abrasive), but you put it on the rails of the slide or wherever its tight, and work the slide untill its smooth, and make sure to clean it ALL out afterwards, its works like sandpaper to loosen up a tight fit, but if you dont get it all out it will KEEP wearing it out

*edit* also if the slide is rubbing on the dust cover on the bottom, you can sand out the inside wall of the frame with sandpaper to make it larger

Thank you so much for all the help gentlemen, I'll give it a shot with the tooth paste how long do you think it will take to get it to fit smoothly? And just keep cocking it to sand it?

Use a fine file. Lightly file away the rails just so it's snug and not tight. Then use fine sand paper to smooth it out. Go from 400, 600, 1000 and 2000 if you want. If it's just snug, use the sand paper and finish it with the tooth paste. Take your time and take off just a tiny bit at a time. You can take off but can't put back.
