LOL...

if the maximum limit posted for a game is 350 Feet Per Second (FPS)...and it's measured with 0.20g BBs...then if your weapon is shooting faster than that then you are not allowed to use that weapon. You can shoot any velocity below the maximum...

same if the field maximum limit is posted at 400, or 450, etc...if your weapon chronies higher than that, you can't use it.

smart fields/hosts will have a chronograph on hand. If you're in doubt as to what your weapon is shooting...get it chronied.

Shooting a roughly 430-480fps rifle at close range is likely to seriously injure someone. That is not the point of the game.

Generally, 350 for indoors.
400 for AEGS outdoor
450 for sniper rifles.

As Tys said, higher then the limits.. you're SOL. Downgrade the gun.

Also, depending on where you live in the country, you may have to take a course to be allowed to play as a sniper i believe.

While there's a BA Operators course that speaks to MED, safety and some other aspects...ultimately who's using what is up to the host.

If it's written in the game brief...then that's what it is.

If it's not written in the game brief...DO NOT assume this or that...ask.

If in doubt, ask the host for that game (either PM or post in the game/event thread).

Simple as that.

Regardless, most games I've been to are VERY uncomfortable with letting a new player shoot with a hot gun, even if it is technically within the FPS limits.

If there is a Airsoft store near you, they may be able to chrono your gun for you. New guys being snipers is generally not allowed, unless the gun falls within the FPS limits for assault rifles. Which will make using a sniper rifle less enjoyable. All restrictions are pre set by the host though. Final say will inevitably up to him. If contacting that person is possible, then do it ahead of time. That will save you disappointment game day. In your case, I would try to find a game with an age verifier.....if your of age. If that's the case then bring your "government issue photo I.D." Getting access to the full forums and classifieds is a large perspective change for new players.

Good luck,
