Bringing my airsoft replica from Europe to Canada

Hello, I am from Europe and I need your help regarding some information about airsoft in Canada. I am planing to move to Canada soon. I got a Desert Eagle replica and a scope from a sniper rifle. Can I bring my replica with me in the plane? What about just the scope? Thank you!

You can absolutely bring the scope, any gear and camo you have, that stuff's all good.

But guns won't make it in.

Just the scope. It's not illegal or anything since it's only a firearm accessory not the firearm itself.

The Desert eagle you'll have to part with, just sell it there, take a loss and rebuy here. Just a note that I've noticed at least for pistols that here they're a bit more expensive than their UK equivalent (if you're located in the UK) and that's just the cost of pursuing the hobby because we're in Canada (although I'd expect that prices will drop in the near future to at least similar to the UK pricing levels).

What about asking a friend to ship my Desert Eagle later on after I move to Canada?

Unfortunately no. Airsoft in Canada is currently technically prohibited from import (there are exceptions, and the situation is improving every year).

Please read the below FAQ which should answer all your questions about bringing airsoft rifles/pistols etc into the country.

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=40318

Also for your information, you can expect to pay approx 250 British pounds ($400 CDN dollars) for a new TM Desert Eagle.

Welcome to Canada.

To add to Kokanee's link, understand that this is an issue with the Canadian Border Security Agency (formerly Canada Customs) who are responsible for inspecting packages coming into the country. It doesn't matter who or where it is shipped from. It has nothing to do with immigration, visas, residency status, or anything other than CBSA.
