WE M14 Part 102
Hey fellow WE M14 users,
I recently bought a WE / RAtech Lv. 2 M14 EBR used and it has a few problems. I got a pretty fair deal so I'm not unhappy about the deal. First off I took the gun down and Part 102 (charging handle and recoil spring guide) seperated (it seems to be made from two pieces and is an interference pressed fit). When the two pieces seperate the gun will cock but there is no spring tension either way when you attempt to put the gun into battery. The metal is fairly thin so I was thinking I have two options here. First being tack welding and finishing a couple of welds to keep them together. Secondly using Loctite. I want to fix this obviously because if I don't eventually the two pieces will pound each other and wreck the part. The second item is that the trigger group doesn't want to stay far enough into the reciever to catch the hammer on the sear... so you fire on semi and the gun runs away on full auto. I have the integrated steel trigger box from RAtech, I was wondering if anyone had this problem and did this mod to repair it? I love both my WE M14's they just seem a little finicky and take more care than the average AEG. Thanks guys for any help you can provide.

I installed the RATech trigger box and it solved my full auto runaway problem. It's a beautiful piece and you can feel the difference right away, much tighter.
For $129 it is a great upgrade for the WE M14. I have part 14 but I will have to grind it down to install. I'm waiting for the real wood stock from RATech to see how it will fit before making any adjustments. I also ordered the SOCOM barrel kit so I will advise how it all works out. I think I'm going to roll pin part 102 with red loctite and see how that works, if it fails I will talk to my machinist and see if I can have an new part made.
